As someone on the autistic spectrum (and a retired Army officer) I really love this movie. It’s not perfect, but it gets a lot of details right. In the scene where Christian is explaining the accounting anomaly to Dana, notice how much more animated and expressive he is. He’s talking about something within his narrow set of interests. And, observe the way he shows that he really cares about others, even though he has difficulty expressing it. Yeah, some things about the movie are highly exaggerated, but I still love it.

I love that they showed the exposure therapy for what it was. It is banned in most parts of the world, for being torture with little to no gain. The dad was abusive, because he did not know better. He was abusive towards both kids. He loved them, but also ruined their lives. They are not good people. They try to be not bad people, but they both do not so good stuff. That is on him, just as Christian going to jail. But what I love about it, is that he does not get called out for it. It just gets shown for what it is.

One of my favorite movies Biss. I love the storytelling, the twists and turns. And, yeah, I tear up everytime I see Dana realize that Christian sent her the Pollock. As an art person, she knows what it is, not just in terms of value, but as a work of art. So I imagine what is going through her head, amd Anna does a great job showing how she is being so careful with it when hanging it up, and as she sits back to admire it. It may not be my style, but for her its a world of wonder everytime she looks at it. Chills. And tears from me. Cheers!

My nephew is high-function autistic, and I see so many similarities (except the shooting people). The unease around strangers, the inability to questions or small talk, the reliance on a certain set routine. But they open right up if they have something in common with you. In the movie, Christian opens up to Dana because of the love of accounting. My nephew hardly talked to me for years, but then he found out that we had a shared interest in computers and of all things....dad jokes. They are misunderstood by so many...accused of being mentally substandard, but in fact they are extremely intelligent. They just have difficulty in finding ways to open up & express it. As my nephew says...his brain is wired a bit differently.

I love that Dana was the one to break the mold just by being herself. Kindness and curiosity will get you far. 46:07 No, she wouldn't go to jail for having a Pollock painting. He painted over 350 paintings and many of them are privately owned. The whole point of getting payment through items instead of money, is that they are a clean currency with increasing value.

It was made clear in the earlier conversation on the phone he valued the painting far more than it's monetary value. It hung above his bed so he could enjoy it while relaxing. He owned numerous other valuable paintings and assets he could have gifted her but chose the one that meant the most to him personally. Dana is unlikely to ever part with it either because she loves it and it's connection to him makes it more than a painting.

I grew up very misunderstood because I am autistic, my father growing up never really knew how to handle it so i got the sht end up the stick very often, my mom always tried her best even when it was too much for her but as i got older i became able to understand and control myself through knowledge and understanding of life. It's definitely not easy to socialize with "normal" people because you're often judged with misunderstanding or because today most people don't care about anything but themselves... Ben Affleck is only the second actor (that I know of) portraying a character with autism (the other was Dustin Hoffman in the 80's film "Rain Man". Highly recommend). I can only imagine what these two actors had to do to prepare themselves for a role like this. And, with this movie, having that basic reality actually be secondary to the movie's main, overarching plot. Just phenomenal.

Don't apologise to use for your ability to understand Christians motivations, emotions and those tiny things he does out of habit and his need for routine to ward off the chaos within him. Your perceptions do you HUGE credit young lady! More people need to see the person behind the complications that make life hard for them, you should be proud of that ability.. If you want another great example of a talented actor speaking volumes whilst barely saying a word you should watch Kurt Russell in "Soldier" (1998), Kurt speaks just 104 words the entire movie but his face says so much more... Fun facts: Soldier is set in the same Movieverse as Blade Runner, Alien and The Predator series. In Soldier there's even a scene showing Sgt Todds' training and battle history including being at both Tannhauser Gate and the Shoulder of Orion battles which are both included in Rutger Hauers "Tears in the Rain" monologue. Todd's also trained on the USCM Smartgun toted by Vasquez and Drake in Aliens, and also something called the "Doom MkIV BFG"... I wonder... That sequence also shows Todds commendations including... Cash Medal of Bravery (1989 Gabriel Cash, Tango and Cash reference) Plissken Patch (1981 Snake Plissken, Escape from New York reference) O'Neil Ring Award (1994 Jack O'Neil, Stargate reference) MacCready Cross (1982 R. J. MacCready, The Thing reference) Capt Ron Trophy (1992 Captain Ron reference) Dexter Riley Award (1976 Main character from Strongest Man in The world) McCaffery Fire Award (1991 Stephen McCaffery, Backdraft reference) All characters Kurt Russell played before appearing in Soldier lol! You should really look up Soldier!

Did you realize the woman with the computer at the end is the woman who had been giving him information on the phone? Also the think about the dog painting being incongruous meant that dogs would never make bets, so the painting does not make sense.

I was 23 when I got hole heaps of diagnosis: Dysgrammatism, Aspergers, perceptual disorder and Dyslexia. Till that point I thought I was dumb as they come. I couldn't learn multiplying etc as fast as others but I knew Apollo program by heart in 3 rd grade, when other's built in crafts whatnots, I built Apollo 13... Outside creative lesson's and history, school was extremely difficult. This movie hits me quite hard because of all of this. I am happy that Neurodivergent people are finally being understood better and not considered slow and dumb but are given positive representation.

I really enjoy this film. I'm glad it's starting to get the attention of reactors. Nice job (other than the gun sounds). :))

Cool reaction Biss! The funniest thing I thought u said = 24:46- 24:57, "don't be a prick, thank you for saving my life. Can u teach me how to kick ass. et cetera" you added that's what I would do. Funniest thing in movie is when Raymond King says, "I was old ten years ago."

Those guns sound effects were on point, also happy you enjoyed this movie. I have a lot of respect for it because of a number of different details within the movie, but also because it is not a flash and glamour movie. There are a lot of specifics in this movie that go by the numbers (see what I did there? 🙃) It was a good story being told by a couple different perspectives who just happened to be the same guy. Thanks for watching it, cute name 👍

the accountant's superman comic brings to mind the intro to the 1950s live-action tv show: he certainly was a strange visitor from (seemingly) another planet, who came to earth with powers and abilities far beyond those of mortal men! fun fact: the mustachioed hitman unalived @21:27 by the accountant also had in 2014 the twin pleasure of firstly getting a double-tap to the cap from john wick in the club scene and secondly getting broken glass in the neck from the equalizer in the climactic showdown. one-man armies don't make life easy for a hench.

When you see a well-known actor in a role and all the people around him are significantly lesser-known, that's probably going to be your bad guy or the main victim. Anna Kendrick already had the victim role, so I knew John Lithgow was going to be the villian
