Hi Biss. I hope you see this. I'm late to the party, but I would absolutely love it if you could look into two Korean movies. They are from the early 2000's so I think a lot of modern K-drama fans may not know about them. In fact, I can't find them on streaming anywhere, but you can buy the dvd's. The two movies are both directed by Kwak Jae-yong. They are called "My Sassy Girl" and "The Classic." They are two of the most wholesome and wonderful romance movies. The Classic is a romance movie about a girl who discovers her mother's old love letters after her father passes away and her mother goes on sabbatical and the girl realizes that her mother's love story is very much similar to hers. The movie explores both stories which take place in modern day as well as during 1960's Korea. My Sassy Girl is a romantic comedy based on a true story about a man who finds a girl, drunk, and almost falling onto the train tracks as a train comes, but he saves her and they develop a friendship and odd relationship that holds lots of twists and turns. Both are my favorite Korean movies of all time. I hope you can look into one or both even. Their footprint in reaction media is almost zero. Valentines is nearing so one or both would be perfect. You will shed tears probably unless Mean Biss comes out LOLOL.

Not from my native country, but "Himalaya" (1999) would suit your project very well. Also "Nights Of Cabiria", my all time favorite movie (Italian) Also "Malena", a good one (Italian)

LEA THOMPSON plays Lorraine. She was in RED DAWN (review that one) with Patrick Swayze and Charlie Sheen and she plays the high school love interest of Tom Cruise in ALL THE RIGHT MOVES (she does a nude scene, too). "Scott" as in "Great Scott" was a famous adventurer. Look it up. Nobody in America says "Ein-shtein". Lots of German immigrants (including my ancestors) changed the pronunciation of their names when they moved to America. Albert Einstein moved to America too. These movies in the trilogy raise all sorts of time-travel questions but I think the science geeks take them too seriously. Time-travel is NOT the most important thing in these stories. It's all about the importance of relationships. BILLY ZANE ("Titanic") plays a member of Biff's gang and so does JASON SCOTT LEE in BTTF PART 2. He was great in "Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story" as Bruce Lee. Kind of sad that Bisscuit never heard of JERRY LEWIS because he was known all over the world as a comedy genius.

It is NOT a Christmas movie. It started as a meme but soon action film fans took over the meme and insisted that it indeed was a Christmas movie. "Please don't tell me that this is a Christmas just because the action takes place during Christmas" is exactly the depth of reasoning people use for saying that this is a Christmas movie. I'm sorry that these action film nerds from the 1980s convinced you of their lie.

I love how much you understood Walt. He is my parent's generation. And we are from Chicago area, the midwest, same as Detroit. And they talked that way with friends and family. While they passed on that toughness to us in my Gen X people, and we can hold our ground on the language and still mean nothing personal about it..and we take insults like water off a duck's back..imo that makes us strong..because if you don't let things like words hurt you, you can busy yourself with and protect your family from the things that are actually a threat. You have your strong Romanian culture that helps you deal with things..I'm Irish, and our culture has kind of the same way to deal..words dont hurt our ego..matter of fact, we appreciate a great Irish insult and will laugh..it's just words, and when other join in, it is a camaraderie that develops. Also, being in a war, to me, makes you not available to be judged on how you deal with life thereafter. No one has the place to judge someone that has been thru something they have never experienced..and you showed that in your reaction which earns you great respect from me at least. Walt did the most sacrificing thing to bring some justice to the situation at hand. Respect..and in his final few months learned to have warmth in his heart for a family he didnt even know he had living next door. Clint is the GOAT.

I like the sound of that project. You will find fans of it. I will recommend you a movie that you may have seen. It is a movie from my first country, a country that doesnt exist anymore. You as a Romanian will have a connection with this movie. Movie is called " Dom za vešanje " or people may know it by the name " Time of the Gypsies " from Yugoslavia from the year of 1988.

This is a cool idea, and I hope you have great success with it. I will say though (and I'm sure you've thought if this... maybe this comment is best saved till I see what you have planned but) it may be hard to hold a consistent audience doing reactions to movies that a lot of people haven't seen. I mean, you'll get viewers for one movie, or for movies from one country, but they may drop off when you move to a movie from another country cos chances are they haven't seen it... Just a thought, you may have better luck with more of a review style. You've gotten pretty good with analysing and finding interesting insight in the movies you watch, so you reviewing a movie that many people may not have seen could be really cool. You could even do the reaction for one video, and take most of your usual outro/thoughts of the movie and put them into a review of the movie. Maybe frame it as "Why You Should Watch [this movie]" or something like that. More of a introducing people new movies, convincing them maybe go to watch it themselves. And then they can come back for your reaction... So like drop the review one week and then the reaction the next week, giving people time to watch the movie themselves in-between. I don't know, I'm just a stranger offering ideas. Either way, I wish you the best luck with it.

In the US, kissing a family member lightly on the lips was much more common and not considered unusual for those raised in the early 1900's. My parents grew up that way and continued the practice, even after it became less common. Uncle Billy is eccentric and rather feeble minded - that's why he is not the one running the building & loan. Both George Bailey and his father let Billy have a part in the business and yet looked after him, which allowed him to not turn into a bum or a homeless person. Family took care of Family in those days.

This movie was Omar Sy breakthrough, in France he used to be on TV and making jokes, then he had small roles. Recently he played the main role in the Netflix hit "Lupin" and the movie "Tirailleurs" in 2023, the story of Senegal soldiers enrolled forcibly in the French army during WW1. Omar Sy spoke the language of his ancestors and the French language, it was a poignant movie.

One of the best experiences I have had with a subtitled movie was "Ran" (1985). It was directed by Akira Kurosawa, arguably Japan's most legendary director. It fuses an adaptation of Shakespeare's "King Lear" and stories set in 15/16th century Japan. The film is in Japanese, but I watched it with English subtitles. After a few minutes into the film, I stopped noticing the subtitles 5/5 stars; Highly recommended.

I think it's a wonderful idea, to experience new languages and opening up toward new cultures. I'll recommend you quite a few movies here... I'd really love to recommend hungarian ones as well since I'm hungarian, but I have to be honest, they are HORRIBLE except the black and white ones, and I doubt you can find subtitles to those :D So here is a list of movies: Hungarian: Abigél Abigél is about a teen girl, called Vitay Georgina who is forced to live in a really stritct girl's school by his father. The movie takes places during the last year of world war two, and it's obvious that the war is lost (since hungary was practically forced to fight on the wrong side). The girl's father uses the school to hide her daughter in case if he'd be captured and tortured. (as for who is Abigél, I can't tell you, it's heavy spoiler and an epic plot twist) It's a touching story of a young girl who came from a wealthy background, and has to live among ordinary girls, without all the fancy clothes, in fear of the war, and she needs to adapt to the new rules of this place. It's dramatic, funny, emotional - based on the book of Magda Szabó's "Abigél". It's famous, outside of the country as well. It comes in about 4 parts, and I'm not sure you can find english subtitles to it... Kincsem: Ernõ Blaskovich lost everything after the Hungarian Revolution of 1848. Kincsem, a magnificent horse gives a purpose of his meaningless, self-destructing life. He gets a chance to gain everything back: revenge, love and fame. Not sure you can find subtitles to it either but this is still one of the "better done" movies. CHINESE MOVIES: House of the flying daggers: One of the most famous chinese martial arts movies, the genre is called as "wuxia". It's about a young officer in medieval times who fights against a rebellious group. Once one of their members gets caught (a young blind girl), the officer get's a secret mission: since the girl can't see, he has to act like a savior and a member of their clan. He "breaks out" the girl and hopes that she will lead him and his men to their secret base. However, literally nothing is what it seems, and love stands in the way of everything. Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Probably the MOST famous chinese movie around the world. It's about a really rich family's young daughter who refuses to get married and rather wants to be a martial artists and an adventurer. In order to do that, she steals a really powerful sword from a retired master, and this starts a chain of events. Consequences, love, epic fights, drama - the movie is beautiful. Hero: Based on true story (partially) it takes place in medieval China. The protagonist is called Nameless: an excellent swordsman whose duty is to kill the king who appears to be a tyrant. In order to get close to him, he has to kill those who are the enemies of the state: each of these people are great swordsman (and women). Eeach weapon taken from the dead is a proof, and each proof gives him a gift: he can step closer and closer to the throne. Known for his deadly skills, if he is close enough to the king, no one can stop him, not even a whole army. The story is about sacrifice, about the greater good, there is a bit of love and drama. (be aware that in wuxian movies people can just jump over roofs and they can basically fly through great distances. it looks weid but it's a "core element") JAPANESE MOVIE: Memoirs of a geisha: "The heartwarming tale of Nitta Sayuri, a young Japanese woman who transcended from her fishing-village roots and became one of Japan's most celebrated geisha." I don't even want to talk much about it. It's just epic as it is. Directed by Spielberg, but it takes place in Japan, and it is a japanese story and based on true stories. INDIAN MOVIE: My name is Khan Rizwan Khan is a Muslim immigrant to the US with Asperger's syndrome. After his family falls apart in the aftermath of 9/11, he begins an epic quest across the country to speak to the President of the United States and clear his name. The story is really heartwarming, dramatic, and realistic, with a touch of humor. It shows the dark and bright side of people under pressure, and the life of someone who lives with Asperger and has to "overcome" his condition as much as he can to serve the greater good after horrible things. Korean movies: KUNDO: Age of rampant A period action film centered on a militia group who turn against an unjust nobility. This is a fun movie about a rebellion, with a lot of fight scenes, nothing special, but amusing. Especially because it has western music sometimes :D PARASITE (not the anime one) "Greed and class discrimination threaten the newly formed symbiotic relationship between the wealthy Park family and the destitute Kim clan." A broke family, where everyone is a scammer, moves into the service of a wealthy family, one by one taking many roles: teacher, cook, maid, etc. It's funny, entertaining, it's a bit trying to criticize society as well and it's also dark at times. The last one is a mini series what I HIGHLY RECOMMEND. ANNE OF GREEN GABLES (1985) Based on the book of Lucy Maud Montgomery, this one is a Canadian story, one that touched my heart like nothing else. I'd put it up right next to Violet Evergarden. "When Anne Shirley arrives at the Cuthbert's Farm on Prince Edward Island, she is a child with wild imagination, desperate to be loved. We follow Anne's enchanting life, from her struggles as an adolescent to her triumphs as a young woman." The story follows Anne's life since childhood to adulthood, and the actress grows up in front of us. Anne is an orphan who was never wanted by anyone, but a pair of older siblings take her in, mostly out of pity. Anne has a lot of energy, epic amount of imagination and she has a really romantic way of thinking about life. She talks a lot and annoys people at first, but she is a kind of person who can change everyone. If you watch nothing else, I'd recommend you to watch this one at least once in your life :D Sorry for the too long comment. Other than the hungarian movies, all the others has english subtitles, as far as I know. Good luck for your next project!
