Roger Ver had nothing to do with the creation of BCH. The current blocksize is 32mb not 38. BCH takes the idea that mass adoption furthers decentralization (because more interested parties will run more nodes, etc.)

If 10,000 users of a cryptocurrency on average has 50 enthusiast that chose to run full nodes, then if your goal is to maximize node count to achieve decentralization of verification of the blockchain, then adopting millions of users would naturally result in more hobbyists running full nodes. If you, on the other hand, restrict your currency such that growth stops, then if you want to increase the full node count, you need to resort to other means to get that type of decentralization. The primary way that's been advocated is that by keeping the costs to run a node *low*, more people would run nodes. But if the cost of transacting on the network is higher than a months cost of running a node, who would want to run a node?

Interesting point... The wrinkles need ironing out. But given that the CIA is alleged to have written the original white paper in 97 or 98 (memory loss..:--)) The plan was always to use cryptos, to move us to a digital only currency, to CONTROL US, and move us to slavery as controlled assets... And I wish I was joking... :--/

The whole globe is concerned about the forks and the algorithms, and network speed, but POLITICIANS only need to control the entrances and exits to control YOU (& ME)... That is how they always planned it We know that the number of global transactions is a function of the global population. ~8 billion and if we only count those over 10, its probably 7 billion, and if they make 2 or 3 transactions per day on average, that's 20 billion a day, 150 billion a week, 600 billion per month.
