I'm a big fan of Roger and Bitcoin cash, but I really don't see the point of these kinds of conversations. He isn't going to persuade the Bitcoin Core people and for the non-initiated he comes across as aggressive and desperate to score points. Sorry Roger, you do an amazing job of promoting the use of Bitcoin (Cash). I think you are more effective when you focus on talking to new adopters or Bitcoiners who are open minded.

I'm not anti-Ver or anything, but he's not a great debater from my standpoint. He is intelligent, I'm not saying he isn't, but he gets overly passionate and he also repeats the same argument over and over. I'm not saying that some of his arguments aren't solid, they often are, but say it once and move on to another point. Also, as they mentioned in the video, his questions are overly "leading" in nature. The problem with leading questions is that they are designed to force agreement by pitting you against social opinion, if you don't agree you become some kind of villain or idiot to some crowd of people. That's not good for improving intellectual discussion on what is a good idea and what is less of a good idea.

I remember the post of the Blockstream supporters about how segwit will incease the block size, but was a bunch of lies... because the plan was never meant to have more capacity but to generate an expensive settlement system. They lie to the community by making many people think segwit will mitigat the immediate danger of high block fees. Pham Nuwen Yes, always under $5. My partner is a medical doctor and she earns $5 a month. In January the bolivar was trading at 1 USD to ~100,000 and is now trading from ~900,000,000. The bolivar is a falling dagger and wage increases are not even close to paralleling the decrease of the bolivar. You're saying the monthly income in Venezuela is 3 to $0.05? Because that's the average Bitcoin transaction fee. Roger is who got me into Bitcoin so I'm not going to trash talk him but there is one big glaring issue. Kyle V the averages salary is difficult to calculate because bolivar literally declines daily if you follow @dolartoday on Twitter. Maduro increases the wages every so often which will still not move as fast as the decline in value. As of last week he removed 0000’s of the price. The fees are lower on Bitcoin now because there are very little transactions on the network, therefore if Bitcoin were to grow in value, transactions would only increase again in size. If BTC continues to be less popular, sure, the fees will become less, and that’s what we’re seeing. Despite this, fees are still significantly less on BCH, which also has a much more sustainable network to a larger population of users.

The censorship is obviously wrong and the argument that the "moderated content" doesn't count as censorship is flatly stupid. The idea of blocking out a voice of how to implement future forks and updates to the network goes against everything we were suppose to believe in as blockchain enthusiasts. Forget the "gold" or "cash" argument, the main point was an immutable record, as in, not something central controls could censor. Clearly, the guys running the project on BTC are selling out in order to be rich once the bankers buy it out and manipulate it (already happened it seems). I've watched several interviews with Roger debating supporters of the lightning network and they all seem seriously uninformed. BCH is Bitcoin. That is not a biased statement, that is the reality. BTC is an outdated Bitcoin. The lightning network is for the survival of the old system, that's it. The one difference is you cannot shut down BCH so the inevitable will happen and there will be a flip. Those that laugh at Roger have no idea what's going on. I was one of them.

Bitcoin cash, bitcoin core are both forks, and both come from alias satoshi; the point of bitcoin was to be given to a community to have difference of views and ideas to make bitcoin better. When he asks a question, he stays on it like a dog on a bone and does not let people wiggle away from the question, or try to deflect, Dodge, or reframe. He just keeps coming back with the same question until it gets answered. I really respect that persistence and aggressiveness, I think it’s a great way to debate. And he really made the Korean kid look stupid numerous times in this video and the other one with the same guy talking about economics. That all said, Roger still comes across as kind of a douche bag, which I think he is in most peoples opinion. He’s very disingenuous about a few things, most notably, the title of the bitcoin white paper. Roger puts way too much stock in the “a peer to peer electronic cash system“ verbiage when he has to know full well that bitcoins value as an electronic cash system was only a part of its function, not the entirety of it. These bitcoiners should have no problem saying “sure, bitcoin cash might be better/faster than bitcoin for buying a cup of coffee, but who cares? Bitcoin maximalists are not looking to buy coffee or other day-to-day expenses using bitcoin. Why would you ever spend the most valuable property in the known universe to buy something much less valuable, like a cup of coffee? I will use my dollars for that, and hold my bitcoin with diamond hands.“ That shouldn’t be hard to say. Surely Roger knows that Satoshi was more interested in having a censorship resistant, non-confiscatable, non-taxable, non-corruptible, anti-fragile, trustless network... even if the trade-off was speed or cost of transaction. Basically, Roger is trying to make hay out of a point bitcoin maximalists don’t really care about. We don’t really care that there might be something faster or less expensive for day to take transactions out there. As a bitcoin maxi, I can assure you I spend zero time worrying about that. so Roger is right, yeah, bitcoin cash is faster and cheaper, but it’s also far less secure than the bitcoin network, which is why bitcoin cash has lost so much value and is approaching zero when priced against bitcoin.

As someone who is not tech savvy. I support bitcoin. Even if it is not that fast for transaction. I just see it as a store of value. Yes it can be seen speculative. But any fiat is.
