Thanks for your clear breakdown! Getting mine this weekend for $600 (used before). I intend to keep al the mined BTC and expect good ROI in 5-10 years. Definitely not going to use turbo mode. (rather have the miner last longer).

Awesome review. This device is really for idealists who want to support the network directly. That's cool if you're convinced of decentralized finance. I can't imagine a targe of one million, rather 100'000. Then there's the question if this machine would last 5 years in constant operating state. BTC is the mother and definitely the most powerful and safe coin.

My brother purchased this miner and set it up in his apartment, I asked him why he purchased a miner that only earns like 15 cents a day in BTC and he said that its because since he lives in a rented apartment he cant really change the circuit breakers to use one of those big miners that uses alot of electricity and the noise of the bigger miners is also a drawback. Hes also only interested in BTC (a bitcoin maximalist) so theres that too lol, he thinks all other coins are poopcoins.
@SwanCastleCrypto2 жыл бұрын
He could look at hosted options for Bitcoin mining. He should really broaden his horizon, lots of really good other projects out there’re besides Bitcoin. But to each their own
@WiseSilverWolf2 жыл бұрын
@@SwanCastleCrypto Yeah ive told him about broadening his horizons with other coins but hes pretty hard headed. Then agian I havent really had too much luck with other coins myself so he probably saved himself some money. I lost money with coins like MMF, MMO, Mshare, Deer, XDshare, Planets, PHNX, CRO, HNT. Now im trying to stay away from Cronos because all ive done is lose money with them and im trying Ethereum and Binance.

For everyone saying to just buy btc directly, yea that’s an option… and also this certainly won’t make you any significant amount of btc especially after paying for the energy costs. But despite all of that, looking at the bigger picture, having something like this in 1000s of homes all around the world would really further decentralize and make the network much more resilient. There are a lot of potential attack vectors to big corporate miners but how do you stop small low power spread out machines like these all over the world?
@SwanCastleCrypto2 жыл бұрын
It would be great for decentralization, but unfortunately mining has turned into a big corporate business making it near impossible for us to compete
@mavadd882 жыл бұрын
@@SwanCastleCrypto I dont think its a competition, because I cant compete for a block reward. I DCA for my bitcoin stash. I run a few TH in a pool simply to contribute to the network. At the end of the month I end up paying a few dollars in energy costs... in a few months ill be running it on solar.

It would be cheaper to just bond some MXC to an M2PRO that you already own or buy a new one at Gigesy.

@SwanCastleCrypto2 жыл бұрын
For Bitcoin mining, you would have to go to a full size Bitcoin miner such as one of the Bitmain S19 or S19J models. There are other manufacturers as well, but your looking at 4k+ per miner and loud/high heat.

I stopped using Poolin and switched my miners over to F2Pool. Your analysis has your total production at .0153 bitcoin. With today's bitcoin price of $19,870, you could just take your total costs $1, 447.25 (626.50-elec+926.95-machine) and buy bitcoin. $1,447.25 = .07750377 bitcoin. With bitcoin at $1Million that equals = $77.503.78. Many times the profit with no hassles of running the machine.
