@steveh7108
@steveh7108 2 жыл бұрын
@@BxngWorld I would say that the fight would still last because Evander can take one hell of a punch. But I would think Tyson would win in the long run. It is extremely well-known to just about anyone that followed Tyson's career that when he got tangled up with Don King and the Entourage of partying Yes men, his training and abilities seriously diminished.
@Eric-be6yv
@Eric-be6yv Жыл бұрын
Oh yes the mythical "Prime" Tyson. When exactly was that? 87-88? It didn't last long that's for sure. Holyfield and Tyson would have fought in 1990 all Tyson had to do was get past Douglas, he didn't, Holyfield did and Tyson went to prison
@ShogunateDaimyo
@ShogunateDaimyo Жыл бұрын
@@Eric-be6yv seeing him fight Evander in '90 would've been great had Mike kept the same extreme discipline he had that got him the title. Buster was an anomaly straight up. Mike was with hookers and a mountain of blow the night of with Buster having 40:1 odds against him. His first title defense he lost and was never productive. He had what it took to be the better man than Mike that night so respect. (Could you imagine betting $100 on Buster and making $4,200 omfg ... I digress) Mike's reign would be short no matter what because he had no healthy foundation mentally-emotionally. He came from a prostitute mom and pimp junkie dad, and his adoptive Father passed when he was a teen. Evander came from a strict southern pious upbringing and Buster from a father who was a professional boxer. Mike needed a counselor not the predators that surrounded him. Who wouldn't be mental growing up like Mike did? People are hard on Mike, and not everyone need like the guy, but to put in perspective he would've been 20 in '87 and 23 in '90. What noteworthy mistakes were you making at 20-23 years of age?

Looking back at this fight that happened when I was 9 years old, I remember all the jokes they made about it on the radio. And now, with older eyes, I felt that the post-fight interviews made this fight even more golden. Mike Tyson went on to say that he had children to raise and he did what he did in retaliation for being cut and headbutted constantly by Evander Holyfield. Tyson's co-manager, John Horne, went on to criticize Holyfield for jumping around the way he did when he got bit, headbutting, and giving Tyson a cut over his eye "three inches long."

These two fights prove which one was the bigger man - Tyson, when faced with a scenario where things aren't going his way, looks to the referee to rescue him, then commits a foul to get out of it, and when THAT isn't enough to get out of the fight, commits a second one to make sure that he wouldn't have to stay in there until inevitable defeat a second time. Rather than trying to change things up - which was not in Tyson's playbook at all, since despite the fact that people talk about his head movement and evasiveness from his "peak years" he clearly did not even remember how he did it back then and could clearly not get into shape enough the second time to even ATTEMPT to recapture what supposedly was his "invincible" younger self - rather than try to change things up he just doubled down on what wasn't working in the first fight, somehow confident that he was such a killer that no one could stand against him, all evidence to the contrary being provided by Evander Holyfield. Tyson, apparently, had drunk his own Kool-Aid, bought into his own mythology, and was baffled when it turned out not to be true. THAT is why Tyson is not in the upper-most echelon of heavyweight champions.

So Mike saw the ref wasn't going to help and hanging out with a bad crowd at the time he went street . If they fight again ? @@nkwenkwezi9537 Tyson was more devastating, but because his style was much more controlled and precise. Whereas Floyd's style was more loose. The way Floyd fights almost makes Floyd look like a slugger. It's a funny thing. People who don't know about Mike's fighting style often think he's a slugger but it's the opposite. It's very difficult to fight like Mike Tyson. Especially the way he moved when he was being trained by Kevin Rooney. All that ducking all the time requires your core to be in tip-top condition.

@@nkwenkwezi9537 I agree and it's a shame. His physique is not meant to be a slugger that's why Cus trained him with the style to get in close with combinations since he has a short reach.

For the dinks that think tyson was lookin for an out, u know nothin !! Evander turned both bouts into a street fight..tyson had enough of the low blows and headbutts !! Ruddock fought tyson tough too...did mike foul and exit ??? No is ur answer. Evander used roids and dirty tsctics as his edge 😉

Because holyfield was using his head 😂. Head-butting only illegal if you're caught. Now ill watch this excellent video 11:25 🎉butterbean Seriously i was so upset that realdeal beat my idol in first fight. After the ear clash i gave up boxing out of absolute frustration that tyson would throw away the fight and his career in uncontrollable 🤬 anger Love both guys today. Tysons comeback was outside the ring....coming back from utter disgrace to overwhelming respect from the boxing community.

No it's tyson who the dirty fighter always comes with head to head butt tried to bite Douglas in the shoulder in Rd 2 or 3 through a number of low blow's against Razor Rudduck elbowed Andrew Golota, Frank Bruno, Henry Tillman, tried to break Francis's Botha arm was always coming in to headbutt Roy Jones u tyson fans are simply delusional Holyfield should have come back after the first bite and sliced him open in the other eye
