I don't know if this story is true or not (as the original OP never told what the anime role playing website it was), but hot dang was this a fun story. He managed to be more anime than any of the anime role-players who so wanted to be unique and cool. He was the underdog, the punching bag, the rebellious spirit in a world that wanted to destroy him. He found a friend or two amidst the sea of special snowflakes, and through honor and sheer dumb luck managed to give them a taste of their own medicine. I wonder if any of them ever considered how similar to generic villains they acted. I guess it just goes to show you that anything is justifiable if you look at it from a certain angle. Either way, lovely story, lovely reading of it, just a really nice tale to tell at a campfire. A true legend.

I've made some new pals at Springhole.net, mentioned the story to them, and one of the members stated that, years ago, A Guy Called Squid showed up and shared it with them himself! Apparently, he was fairly nice, though he had a few issues he never stopped griping about and was a little annoying because of it. So... Confirmed, I suppose. I'm not entirely sure. Dread Roach is prone to being silly, but Syera seemed to go along with it, for the most part. Doesn't seem particularly unbelievable, though they could have just been fucking with me.

This Well of Spirit plus Overwhelming Spirit thing, I mean. No cap, refills to cap, go uber-tier... but in the meantime, one's damage was practically nil. Who knows, given the "who cares?" attitude of these mods.

my guess is they dident think about it because hey in haven everyone has infinite spirit so it doesent matter, and then dident account for abilitys that dont just cost spirit but scale with it, and thus in haven were limited only by your cap that or overwhelming spirit was in there form the start and haven was added later after everyone had just chalked it up as a worthless ability and forgot about it

I know this is old but I have to say, they ABSOLUTELY missed the details...specifically one which they never touch on here, but we know is true thanks to basic math. And this detail can be revealed by a simple question... What is half of infinity? Answer? Infinity. This loophole basically means ANY character with overflowing spirit who gets to haven not only has the unlimited spirit to burn...but also bypasses the "effect wears off after a day" rule. As long as said character doesn't say "I use ALL my spirit to X" After the recharge effect wears off, by the laws of mathematics not only do they still technically have "infinite" spirit in reserve despite spending part of it because any number subtracted from infinity still leave infinity, but that part spent is just as strong as if he HAD used the full infinity.

I love the mythic quality this story has. I mean, did any of it really happen? It seems a little too perfectly set up and (as far as I know) neither the original author nor anyone else ever involved on it has ever provided any details beyond that one webpage. And yet something about it just seems so earnest and satisfying. Like you really want it to be true. Alas we may never know and I think the story is all the better for it.

Some parts of it are a bit of a stretch, wich I assume is the author giving it a flare. The part about super powerful characters and edge lords is so very true, specially in communities like that. ((sorry my phone was messing up)) I actually had a very similar story. not quite as long though. i joined an rp with a shit load of characters who were all super human/monstergirl/vampire/werewolf people, they all went to a fighting academy for the gifted. I was the only character who was actually a plain old human, with strong psychic powers due to being brought back from the dead (his background was heavily inspired by TWEWY, he was basically a survivor of the reaper games). basically I could use psychic abilites like pyrokinesis and reinforce normal attacks with it, as well as create energy weapons. I called him Nick after me because Im a boring asshole. His psychic abilities got him into a school for supernatural beings and he made quick friends with a few people. a ghost named danny, an angel named Rei, who was a teacher, and a few of the upper class people. In the first week there was an attack on the town the school was in. it was supposed to he solely fought in by the upper class students, but because Nick was close to one of them, and wanted to make sure she didn't die, because the night before she told him she intended to battle until she died that night, he made the headmaster allow him and danny to go. she allowed it on the condition that he and Danny stayed back and didn't get into dangerous situations. Boy did we not listen though. we got there and started to fight off some fotter enemies while all the others got into big fights with their rivals. one was really strong, and she went right for my friend, We'll call her Regina. Regina was pretty highly ranked, a vampire who wielded katana. she had ice magic and was pretty strong. way stronger than my character in almost everyway. She's fighting one of the strongest rivals. She's on the ropes. Nick and Danny glance at eachother and both run in, Nick protecting Regina by tanking a hit, protecting himself and her using his psychic abilities. He and Regina team up to drive back her Rival. i cant really remember if we killed her or not (just going to say now, I dont remember every detail, this was like four or three years ago). either way, Regina was no longer in danger. Danny and Nick were in so much trouble but thats not important, there was still a battle going on around us. A character who I didnt know well who was ranked at like 2 or 3 was in trouble, we'll call him Salamander, almost dead. Nick stepped in and tried to help but only just in time for Salamander to be killed and the enemy forces to retreat after the major force of the battle was defeated. Salamander and Nick share a short moment in his last breath, and he asks Nick to bring his Gauntlets (most of the people ranked above 10 had special, powerful items) back to the school, so they could be passed on to another hero who earned them. We returned to the school and everything went okay. Salamander was gone but not forgotten, and Nick and Danny, rather than being punished, were rewarded for their bravery and show of strength, they were both ranked up to around 20 and then some. My character had a side stort outside the school. he worked at a bar as a bouncer, a bar which his teacher, Rei frequented. The two got really close and eventually, they wound up kissing, and had relations (PENIS IN VAGINA) (also Rei was only 19, Nick was 17 or 18, cant quite remember). Rei broke up with her boyfriend who actually took it rather well (cant even be fucked to remember his name but oh well). Eventually Rei and my character are a pretty established relationship. I actually add a few characters but they never do anything interesting. Nick and Rei work hard to Improve Nick, by going into his past to find the root of his abilities, because that is the key to making him stronger. Nick reveals his past, and that he had to fight in a game to be brought back to life after being killed by street thugs, as he was a ward of the state before. The game was a death match. There was a girl there who he protected, foolishly thinking they could make it to the end together and both be brought back. During the game, he had actually killed one of the reapers over seeing the game and drank their blood, which allowed him to take their psychic powers, eventually, after killing the last other person in the game, She back stabbed him, and nearly killed him. he was forced to kill her, and despite her betrayal, he regreted it till the end. He got brought back and was homeless once again before being taken to the academy. He and Rei found out that if he drinks the blood of the head reaper, he would basically gain a massive power boost. so he did just that, going to the world of the dead and killing the head reaper and drinking his blood. He gained a boost in power and new powers, his skin grew paler and his scelara turned black, his irises became red. he eventually got back to the world and had some more normal days and then got challenged to a match by a rival school student. A girl who had the ability to create gravity wells. I lost the fight because every other character is broken and I was still pretty new to roleplaying so I actually found out later on how to RP fight a lot better. anyway thats more of a side story, the next important event is Prom. Nick goes to the prom with Rei and things are fine until Angels and an arch angel break everything up and take Rei, as she will be important in a later arc. the angels try to kill us and crap but we all band together to defeat them. me and rei's player decide later on to break our characters up in pm and move on. Nick becomes Mr steal yo' girl and another half angel falls in love with him and breaks up with her boyfriend for him. his player didnt like that eventually I spent an entire weekend defending myself from an onslaught of Omnipotent assholes who wanted us dead. I died multiple times and since I killed the head Reaper I had free range to climb my ass out and continue to live. of course that wasnt liked and every time I climbed out I was met with onslaught after onslaught until I was forced to leave.

I kind of like Goldenharl's design. He looks a lot like Xer0, but still has these colors and that more "golden" aura signifying that he is more "pure" than him. In the story, it's shown: Goldenharl works to get his things, while Xer0 whines his way through. Goldenharl accepts defeat, while Xer0 refuses and tries everything in his power to get Edgardo "Edgardown". Also, "seeing it through"... I just love this sentence.

The really sad thing here is that, with even a bit of thought, this could have been a wonderful thing for the site. Seriously, think about it. The peace and security that many took for granted was just shattered by an underdog rogue. Most view him as an evil monster while others view him as a hero or at worst a man who had overcome a difficult hardship struggling against a system he viewed as unfair. The Shadows are now free, the two strongest players are dead (I seriously would be shocked if Xer0 didn't have at LEAST one method of revival or someone willing to do whatever to bring him back, but whatever), and the beacon of law and authority is shattered leaving it a lawless wasteland where might makes right. This sounds like the PERFECT set-up for an RP! Just give Edgardo his win but change the raw spirit feat thingy to be double or X10 or something the cap instead of true unlimited and let the world keep going like it had before.

they are frozen in time cause edgardo is sill calculating damage aka, xero is still being punched in all dimensions because infinite spirit trancends time and space, so untill the damage calculation of infinite spirit punch resolves in all the realities where xero exists they will remain frozen in time
