With all the right tools, people to work with and time at hand, he can spin a colorful but perturbed story from thin air. What's even better is how he pays special attention to detail when it comes to writing out his characters with such disturbing charm, something a dwarf or two can easily have from living in such a fucked up fortress.

I remember reading the original green text of this one. Was really itching for dwarf fortress but can't be bothered to actually learn the game, so ill be perusing this playlist.

I did a similar thing once. when the update that allowed you to invade other sites came out, the first thing that i intended to do was to constantly invade the nearby necromancer towers, and steal as many books as possible. I put them all in my public library, which was next to the worship hall, and the artifact museum. slowly 1 by 1 everyone began to turn into necromancers. I must have had 10 or so of them at this point, but this was a 200 dwarf fort, a lot of time had passed, and there were a lot of fucking dead things strewn about. the resulting chaos and confusion left many, many dwarves and adventurers dead, strangled by severed arms and cocks. I abandoned the fortress in shame, I couldn't bare to see what I had done to my fortress that I had like 30 damn hours in. I look back on it fondly now but then it wasn't so funny. remember kids; losing is fun.

Tfw clowns overran my last fort and I stationed my full legendary army in a choke point hallway and they all got fucking gutted alive and my entire fort and surroundings got bathed in fire. The only thing that survived was 6 dwarves who barricaded themselves in the main hall, most were kids and NONE had pickaxes. They all starved to death brutally.

So i kinda stumbled upon this video and found it interesting, I'm always in the mood for a good old dwarf fortress story, the art is incredible, the narrator/voice is great but the writing here could use more work, it feels more like gushing but there's nothing to be gushed about, if you manage to create some kind of suspense or make it feel more meaningful then everything would be perfect! I really liked it though, well done!
