Honestly for a guy like Edgardo, "Overflowing Spirit" was super fitting, considering that the dude was pobably the only one in that server (sans Squid) who had any soul to him besides the ones that need to be filled with LIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT. Very thematically appropriate for such a powerful underdog story.

The best part of this is how much Edgardo grew throughout this: He started as a guy who didn’t understand his own capabilities, had bad starting stats, punched a guy who said he had a dumb name, was beaten up for taking a shortcut, and generally was treated like trash. By the end he had used tactics to defeat an overwhelmingly stronger opponent, evaded an army with two allies (one of which was a former foe), lacked any darkness in his heart to manipulate, and ultimately gained infinite power. Edgardo’s incompetence was replaced with focus, his abrasiveness had turned to resolve, his frustration became optimism… and he rose from the ashes of powerlessness with godlike power. As an on-and-off roleplayer and a fanfic writer stricken with serious writer's block, this is easily one of the most fantastic stories I've ever heard of. An underdog player and his bff giving a corrupt RP forum stuffed with edgelords the biggest middle finger of all time by using an undiscovered "niche" build is absolutely my sort of jam! For anyone who plans on making an rp like this one huge rule of advice make sure all types of characters are balanced and all theme are treated fairly (broody edge lords, hot blooded, egg heads etc) also start discouraging people from playing one theme when there is too much of them.

I like how, in a freeform RP inspired by anime, just about everyone except Edgardo and A Guy Named Squid were trying to be these edgy anime anti-heroes. Like, of all personalities, these guys decided their characters should be these brooding crybabies who have totally dark and miserable pasts. Also, Edgardo and Squid were pretty much on a full-on anime adventure, complete with a training arc and a bunch of powerups.

I've seen more than half of an entire gym class attempt to cheat on their mile run and end it early, then turn around and try to make fun of the people still running legitimately, saying they were slow. When I called it out, the teacher panicked and ended the run before everything turned into a sh*tshow. The reason I knew they were all cheating is because I lapped everyone twice, not because I tried so hard, but because they had all started walking. Let us not forget that God Himself drowned the entire Earth, and I cannot help but think He was justified in doing so. They were warned. And now the end is nigh for dishonest and power-hungry people, because regardless of what you believe we are about to entire a post-dishonesty age due to the internet, and I don't think many people are ready for it. And when they finally understand lying doesn't work anymore, they will turn violent. Which will then present an opportunity to be rid of those kind of people for good, since there will be no more moral qawlms when you are acting in physical self defense.

Someone open up an RP similar to this with some back story: Years ago, a legendary adventurer overthrew an evil overlord who none other could defeat. Eventually, they used the mighty power to raise their legendary city up into the sky, never to be seen again. Now, adventurers search desperately for this legendary city of power. Also, its balanced and the mods give a shit, and no one is allowed to conquer the starting town due to mod shenagins. Because that is actually evil.Also, EMPIRES NEED TO HAVE ADMINISTRATIVE ACTIONS. You don't get to just casually have an empire in the background.This is the first rule of DMING, and I'm a relatively poor, basic DM. Don't casually give players god powers. Also, have random event tables that you don't change.

I'm a critical douchebag, so I'm just going to push how I felt the characters looked when I read it. I envisioned less DBZ, more Naruto. I believe that OP himself stated that he felt Edgardo looked like buff, anime Freddy Mercury. A Guy Called Squid could have looked less cutesy, but that's eh. Goldnharl really could have been anything, but I always imagined him as either a huge, golden viking (League's Olaf), or Lautrec from the Dark Souls series. Xer0 was the most out of character here, though, as I felt he was more of a skinny animu guy with a trenchcoat and a fedora/mask. The same applies to the rest of his minions. This whole thing was like JoJo and Kenshiro in a sea of Bleach wannabe's Mind you, that's just pointless conjecture. The artist's skill far surpasses my own, and I applaud him for inseminating this tale throughout the internet as much as he has. Loving this story and the reading thereof!
