I built this a few weeks ago. Super tight build. Used the strix 1080ti which fit perfectly. Biggest problem is the window was scratched a lot from arrival. I guess cheap plastic.

Has to be grounded though right? So you can use a PC case as long as its plugged in but turned off as the PSU is grounded to the case....

use ur pc case yes, take ur socks off and remove any fabric under your feet, you should be fine. thats how i always do it for mine

I think a cool mod would be to replace that front curved panel with a piece of acrylic or perspex, obviously curve it around, possibly keep an inch or two of white frame around it. it would also be a good place to add more front venting, if you're good enough at modding. aka not me. also put some lights behind it. just an idea.

i7 7700K and GTX 1080ti create MASSIVE amounts of heat even in full size case. Cooling is the biggest problem with every high-end mini-ITX build.

AYY LMAO Those are anti static wrist bands. It prevents static build up which prevents any components from breaking when handling.

I mean I fully realize they're having to work with stuff they get sent for FREE and all, but these guys lately seem to pick the least practical cases for what they're building. Super high-end rig? Lets jam it into a ridiculously impractical tiny case. Budget build? Lets take up half the budget on a tempered glass RGB case, c'mon gents, build more balanced systems please. Its seriously like they're trolling those of us who've built systems before, and I'm not sure doing much of a service to those who haven't and are looking for viable parts recommendations. Oh well, still entertaining I guess.

Thanks for the feedback. And I promise we aren't trying to troll anyone. :) Ultimately, we like to build in different cases and use a variety of part selections to show what's new and available out there to choose from. We feel like if every build started to look the same, it'd get pretty boring (for us and those watching). Hopefully our approach of using a variety of configurations and parts means that you get to see something new or different that still interests you, even if the complete build wasn't to your preference.

We are heading into an era where e-sports is getting bigger and bigger. There are many e-sports players and pros who have no interest in lugging full sized PC's onto planes, checking them in their luggage hoping they won't be damaged by the notoriously rough baggage handlers, and paying the extra fees for multiple bags that many airlines are now charging big money for. Having a system with almost no performance compromises that can be brought as a carry-on bag is the dream of every e-sports pro who flies more than 4+ times per year. Is mini-ITX practical for an average gamer? Hell no! This build is for the frequently traveling pro/semi-pro gamer.
