One thing to remember that everyone forgets to mention. Get a new, quality surge protector power bar. It's a $20 insurance policy against power spikes or lightning strikes, black outs or brown outs and in conjunction with a quality power supply will protect that nice new computer from that bastard Murphy and his law.

This can differ in practice. I bought custom cables from CableMod but I had to go with a set marked for previous models from EVGA instead of the one I'm using because the ones marked for my model were 12vhpwr cables while my PSU does not have 12vhpwr. To be sure I did ask advice on the matter from both CableMod and the store I had previously bought my PSU from. Both agreed that the cables marked for the previous models should be compatible in my case.

My first build case did not have stand-offs pre-installed. None of the manuals explained to me that I needed them. My PC didn't turn on and I didn't know why. I was young and I didn't have KZbin. AOL was not a good source for me at the time. I didn't know where to look for the info. I took my build to CompUSA, where I purchased the components. The team at CompUSA was awesome and replaced my motherboard and cpu and re-installed them with the standoffs for $100. They showed the computer posting to BIOS after they were done. They also walked me through what they found and how to avoid it in my next build. This store I'm referring to closed many years ago. The staff that worked there at the time were awesome. Even though I've built quite a few PCs over the years, I find these updated guides very useful in filling in any gaps, updating best practices and finding resources to share. I've only ever installed one AIO. RGB and Fan controllers are things I only recently dealt with in the past year. Maybe I will learn something new in the upcoming advanced build video(s). I look forward to finding out.

Outstanding Step-by-Step Guide for a Beginner to No How to build a computer. I had to learn how to build a computer from KZbin back in 2016 when my computer was bought at Best Buy and died days after my purchase and had to return to IBuyPower and they took 4 months of playing around just to replace the motherboard and video card that shorted. Unfortunately I still have to use it today with a B85 board, a 4460 cpu and a 750ti as I was forced to retire early do to health on a fixed income but I did build a High end gaming computer with my grandson 3 years ago learning from Paul and others years ago. They all perform about the same. If you don't need a liquid cooled model, just go with whatever manufacturer you think will honor the warranty. I've had to RMA a 2080ti and a 3090. So far the 4090, the card that got meme'd to hell and back for catching fire *doesn't* have any problems. RIP EVGA

Good video. I have built 2 gaming rigs. And watch too many hours of computor builds. A cupple of thing that i noticed and missed in this video was the "Good to know" that unclip the clips on the RAM or GPU before you take them out. So people not try to use brutal force to remove them. The GPU clip can be really hidden under there. One other thing that I would liked to have brought up is the reson why you gently guided the motherboard in to place. Many guides inform you to gently lift your motherboard in to place to not damage the board on the stand-off. Good video and i will watch more from you. Thanx.

Worth noting for X3D processor buyers and early AM5 motherboards: if the board supports BIOS flashback (update bios via USB stick) you may want to do this BEFORE putting in the CPU/memory and fan/cooling. Some boards' early BIOS versions don't play nice with EXPO memory or CPU overclocking, so the earlier you update BIOS before installing the CPU the better.
