Thanks for the video. Yes "clear all off sets" that's where I screwed up. Great detailed explanation of the bitsetter set up and correct work flow.

Yes, it’s important to follow all the instructions in order and not skip them. I learned the hard way, but that’s part of the process as well.

Thanks for the video. I'm about to install both Bit Setter and Bit Zero. As an old-time electronics tech, I'm worried about putting that added connector board inside the housing with no additional insulation to keep it out of random contact mischief with the main PCB. Since it doesn't seem to contain any active devices in need of cooling, I'll probably mummify it with black tape first.

That's probably a good idea. However, you may want to wrap it in a layer of bubble wrap or clear plastic first in case you ever need to remove the back electrical tape.

I recently bought my first CNC (Shapeoko 3 XXL) used, and it has a BitSetter installed but I’ve been using the touch plate to probe for Z zero every time. I knew the BitSetter had to be more useful … thanks!!

Funny how much longer everything takes when you record your work.

Anyone have video or installation procedures for the new rectangular Shapeoko 4 Bit Setter? I received from Carbide and it came without parts list and instructions. I think I may be missing parts?? I have a Shapeoko XXL Pro and can't figure out how to mount it to the frame - it's totally different than the V2. Any help would be great, Thanks!!

It's tough to tell, but at around 2:00 are you using the head of the screws to secure the BitSetter to the frame?
@boxcrafted4 жыл бұрын
The BitSetter has a slot that drops over the front rail. Yes, the set screws secure the BitSetter to the frame and keep it from moving around.

Is there a link for the splitter that allows you to use both setter and zero I don’t have one and need to purchase one unless anyone knows a different way to use both

Everything I needed for the install came with the BitSetter. I suggest you contact support at Carbide 3D. They should be able to send you one.

Heh. I tried to inject a little humor into what turned out to be a pretty monotone voice over. Need to work on using a more animated speaking tone. Glad you liked it.

How did you get bitsetter to work with VCarve Pro?
@boxcrafted2 жыл бұрын
I use Carbide Create and Carbide Motion. I've not tried using the bit setter with VCarve Pro.
