Hi, Really liked your umbrella basics video but I have a doubt about whatever umbrella doing like URL filtering, file inspection and content filtering like social media and other stuff same thing even firepower also will do. then y we need an umbrella.FTD only fine right..meaning what is the difference between umbrella and ftd

Umbrella is a cloud security solution while firepower is maily an on-prem firewall

Umbrella and FTD are different and can't be compared. Umbrella can be used as a second layer along FTD. Any domains, URLs that are found to be suspicious or malicious will be instantly blocked since dns queries are being bounced up to Umbrella cloud.

@@samirshaikh6494 I would differ with that view. While Umbrella started purely as a DNS security solution, over the years it has grown into a full fledged Cloud Security solution. Nowadays you can do granular Layer 3/4 filtering just like any hardware firewall with limited Application visibility in addition to DLP, SWG etc. It just boils down to what kind of solution suits a particular network better. Is the enterprise delivering services majorly from the cloud ? Is it a small branch or a huge HQ ? and many more such questions

@@BitsPlease I totally understand but security is about layers. Personally i like the option of having each layer from different vendor. Though Umbrella is great option no doubt but as you mentioned different enterprise network drive through different requirements.
