This video brought such a smile to my face. I live on a 33ft boat in Manly, Qld with my partner. This past weekend we sailed to Moreton Island for the weekend to build up our skills. It felt like such an achievement. I can't imagine what it must feel like for you guys to arrive in the Bahamas. It was our first night sleeping 'out' on the boat. Not sure if you guys remember your first night anchored somewhere, but we both woke up countless times, wondering if we had dragged anchor. But not at all, didn't budge. We anchored how we learnt/read and everything was fine. One day at a time, little by little we'll build our skills. Can't wait to see the things you guys are seeing. And I especially can't wait to get there by sailing.

The two of you amaze me and fill my heart and soul with peace and serenity. I’m 72 years old and have always been mesmerized by the waters though Lake Michigan is the closest I’ve been... I tell myself that in my next life I shall experience the sun, sand, and the magical music the waves, wind and waters offer. May peace, love and light surround the three of you forever and always😘

I raced ocean going sailboats for a couple of years back in the early 70's before we had all of the modern electronics. Sailed against Ted Turner with his 12 meter and usually beat him. I will tell you right now that even pleasure sailing is fantastic but can be brutal. Get with someone really good and enjoy. Mike

Looks amazing, both of you have inspired me and my daughter (9 years old), we are getting a survey on a formosa 41 that needs some work, hopefully will be in the water in a few months. As for the baby their not that bad, I have raised 2 in the suburbs and now one looking forward to one being raised on the water. Just always let them know you love them and whatever situation you are in your family will come out on top! Best of luck with the little one, it is one heck of a ride :)
@sails35386 жыл бұрын
Sam Brody ...... as a previous formosa 41 owner..... don't pay very much for it. And the cabins and decks have huge rot issues. At most they are worth 25-30k. Mostly due to no second cabin and such a small space for their lenght. More modern boats are way more ergonomic and have better low wind sailing abilities. If it has wooden masts.... run from it......
@sambrody57056 жыл бұрын
Hey Sails thanks! Any advice is much appreciated, I am also looking at a Heritage 38, Irwin 41 Mk2 CC and 2 S2 9.2 CC, I am def the type of person that just says "Just get it, and will figure it out as we go" taking the slow and route for once has been a huge eye opener!! :)
@sails35386 жыл бұрын
Sam Brody .... something from the late 90's would be best. By then boat builders realized that wood rots and most quality builders used wood only for decritive purposes. The beniteus were incredibly well engineered boats. And the craftmanship was off the scale. What fails is the American made junk thats put on the boat. Winches, engines, pumps, batteries and all electrical wireing. Just replaceing the wiring properly will cost 3k. Autopilot is 4k. Wind steering which I say is a must ..... is up to 4k. And remember, most wind steering systems do not work with hydraulic steering. Well..... its time to leave Asia and get back to my boat in Mexico and go sailing for the season......... good luck to you and fair winds.

We were anchored off the pig beach a couple of years ago and my brother had flown in to see us for a few days. We watched a seaplane land and taxi up to the beach to see the pigs. My brother said, “These are just pigs right? They don’t talk or tell jokes, or do math or anything, do they?”. “They swim,” I told him. He thought about that for a minute, and then asked, “Are there any pigs who can’t swim.”. Enjoying your videos. Making me wish we were in the Bahamas right now.

Hi Riley and Elayna, been watching you both for over a year now but never commented. This episode of Staniel Cay is a bit personal to me. I am a pilot and some years back I found myself contracted to fly there twice a day for several months for the Yacht club when their aircraft was down for major maintenance. At one point I brought my wife out and we did some of the very same things that you showed in this episode. It brought back a fun flood of memories (all good of course). Riley, I narrowly escaped a bite on the A$$ from the pigs myself so I'm feeling for you. Thanks for what you do and maybe one day I will get to meet you. ~ Preston
