📙 Backstory:
"Bittersweet Memories" is an original composition I wrote in August 2022. It's about reflecting on one's life and journey past, especially as one stumbles upon a memento.

✨ Highlights:
I choose to go back and forth between the key of Ab major, and it's relative minor - F minor, using the same melody. This creates that contrast between happier and sadder emotions.
-This key was chosen over other keys because it still allows depth of the lower tones of the piano to shine through while not letting the sound getting too muddy.
-The bassline is purposeful and almost moves up and down diatonically. This also adds to that nostalgic feeling, having to use inversions and giving the chords almost a mixed nostalgic quality.

Omg I loved this so much! I love how you played around with repetition and made the piece go in a different direction than expected! I also liked the stepping up and down motions on the first quarter note in each measure it was uplifting and like a full circle moment:). Lastly around measure 17, it reminded me of a part of Princess Mononoke's Theme!! I just had so much to say about this because it was really good😁. I hope to hear more.
