This a great fan controller! I love how it has jumpers. Reminds me of the 90's when everything was manually done! Love that classic feel!

you can connect 4 fans to one channel as long as your total load for all of them combined is under 30 watts. cathode light should also work fine, you just might need a molex to 3-pin adapter.

thanks for the sub, man! as far as the fans go, both options are solid. it just depends on what you value more. performance or acoustics?

This is a perfect video! Thank you! While looking for a fan controller I discovered this and wished I would have discovered it sooner. I hope that someone can help me with my question below. Could I power this fan controller with a Mean Well RID-125-1205 series power supply? I picked this particular unit because it has a separate ground for both the 12V and 5V channel. During hours of reading, this detail seemed important for the 4 pin molex that controller takes for input power. The other RD-125A only has one ground. I am building a custom cabinet to hold AV equipment and other components. It will be built in such a way to allow for filtered positive air pressure inside the cabinet. Will be using typical case fans for intake and exhaust. The black bricks that would suit this purpose are only 2 amps or about 15 fans. That leaves me with no room for expansion. 15 fans might be enough, but I also want to run ambient lighting as well. I know enough about computer power supplies to know I need to ask too many questions, and the "jumping" of the pins to start it, doesn't seem like a permanent solution. Maybe even a waste of all the things it does by comparison of my project. It's probably obvious that I don't have a lot of experience on this end of the spectrum. Thanks in advance for any information or opinions!

Most fan controllers, including this one, have 3-pin connectors, so no. But PWM connectors mostly go into your motherboard for pwm control.

Hi, I was considering the higher version of this model, the Lamptron FC5V3 Fan Controller. I was very interested on what you did by connecting the LED's to one of the fan controllers. In the version I will be buying one of the buttons controls the color of the screen without having to modify any jumper. So my question is the following, would I be able to connect an RGB LED cord and change the colors of the fan controller screen and the LED's simultaneously?

I really want to get one of these but I have some concerns. I need to be able to run a minimum of 3 corsair AF120 performance fans off one of the channels. Each fan draws (@ +12V): 0.13A. So that's 1.56w per fan totaling 4.68w for the three. With 30 watts per channel, and if my crappy math is correct, this should work right? Here is the splitter: 3 Pin to 4 x 3 Pin Computer Case Fan Power Connector Y-Splitter Adapter Cable Computer case: Corsair Air 540

Why did you have to jump start the controller with some sort of metal wire, probably a metal coat hanger? Doesn't it come with the right cables? 6:52 You will see this.
@blackwatchbandstudio8 жыл бұрын
+Electric Lightbulb He was jumping the power supply to turn it on, allowing him to use the power supply to run the fan controller without fully installing it.
@electriclightbulb12328 жыл бұрын
+blackwatchbandstudio Yes, I know that but their should be some sort of cable supplied with it? Or does it run directly off the motherboard or something else?
@blackwatchbandstudio8 жыл бұрын
+Electric Lightbulb I'm pretty sure that it connects to a molex port for power. Some power supplies have a thing you can put on the 24 pin slot to jump it, but it's not common.
