Good stuff Mr. Hayes! Yeah, inspect that automobile like it's yours and you are taking your family on a road trip because these people that own the vehicle do just that. Go beyond what you're asked to do and notify the customer of possible issues. You are not going to receive an attaboy but you'll know in your heart that you did the right thing. On the flip side, an up sale isn't a bad thing for both parties involved so long as it's necessary.

Thanks Hayes, good info. After shop and arm chair mechainic for a heavy equipment dealership I am working on my own mobil business in the small county, Delta county Colorado. I have also seen honest and dishonest within the dealership and honesty and worth is right on point.

I have been mobile for 10+ years. I charge by the hour. Only jobs I quote for labor is brakes and struts. If the customer absolutely wants a time estimate then I tell them 10 hours or more. I charge one hour minimum. I am a little cheaper than you per hour . I don't advertise in any form. I get work by referrals.

Hayes auto repair is a rip off. He totally destroyed my Mercury Mountaineer 2006. It only needed a fuel pump. I paid him $600 for a fuel pump. Mr. Hayes then went under my hood and told me all of my wires were burnt and crumbly. I told Mr. Hayes that I could only afford $800 towards the wire job. Mr. Hayes took allll of the wires loose under my hood. He tested wires for hours often forgetting if the wire he previously tested was good or not. So he retested the same wires over and over. I paid Mr. Hayes $200 that day. Mr. Hayes continued to take wire a loose under my hood even after I told him that I only had $800 towards this specific job. In the end I paid Mr. Hayes another $1,000 that I put on a credit card I'm still paying on. That's over $1,800 gone down the drain. My Mercury Mountaineer on lasted 3 weeks. I had to paid another $100 to get it towed back to the house. Mr. Hayes will not and has not returned any of my attempts to contact him. Very unprofessional

So I got 10 years experience this year in may. I can do everything and anything from gas cng diesel mechanical and electrical I charge $80 n hr for mechanical and $100 n hr for electrical. That’s for cars and trucks up to a 1500 2500 and up I charge a little more and bmw and euro cars I charge more. I feel like that’s fair My diag is $80-$100 for n hr goes towards the repair. So my minimum is $80 bucks basically I’m on Google but I only got three reviews some weeks I’m busy but this week was my first week of no work all week I got one big job scheduled on a 06 Pete 379 doing fuse box and complete wiring harness but I’m just confused why I’m not getting as busy as I was. Everyone’s usually happy with me and likes my labor I’m bout to have business cards but idk what else to do

Respect man, seriously. I have an automotive engineering background & I launched my own mobile mechanic business in the beginning of 2020. I'm 30 years young now. It's going well, but I've had to learn from so many minor mistakes I've made along the way. Fair pricing, dealing with tough customers who aren't tech savvy, comebacks (some are my fault, a lot aren't), "hey can you just check one more thing for me?", some jobs taking way longer than I thought, so I end up eating a lot of extra cost, tools breaking on the job, alllllllll kinds of things will get in your way! It's alright though. I take pride in doing excellent work & treating people properly. Hopefully I only get better with time! It's great to learn from more experienced guys like you out there in the field. Best of luck brother, keep doing great work!

Mr. Hayes, what I am about to tell you, I mean no disrespect, and I care about your health. Without your health, you will not be able to do your mobile mechanic hard work. I recommend working on your Spiritual, Mental, Emotional & Physical self. Obviously you have the qualifications in your profession. In life, we can always improve. Education & research is key. KZbin and Google are good resources. I recommend a starch based, plant based, vegetarian and/or vegan diet/lifestyle. Also gradually ease into no alcohol and no smoking. You will be happy that you are making more healthy choices, and you will notice the improvement over time. God Bless you Mr. Hayes. 🙏 Love your videos.

I don’t mark up parts at all.. I do get pretty good discounts on parts so there’s is no need to mark up parts. As long as it’s a WIN WIN for both parties. All is good, and u will keep your customers
