Night cat is my next purchase, I like the versatility of it. The stove you used does seem to leave a fire scare on the grass, I know I have banged on before about the eurohike one at go outdoors but it does come with a stand which lifts it off the ground so no fire scare. Congrats on not forgetting anything 🥳. We all do it!

Ay up lad. Here in nz it is a real pleasure to watch your vids. Not worry what people prefer, just keep doing what you do. Hubnut has drifted away from his original formats and I really do not like where he has ended up with family the main focus. Your accent is main attraction to a Lancashire lad who has been away for nearly 50 years. I start speaking with lancs accent every time I see your vids...despite fact you on wrong side of Pennines.

I have the Night Cat and it's fantastically versatile I've used it in both configurations and it's held up very well. It's incredibly roomy as a hammock tent the only problem as a bivy tent it lacks a certain amount of ventilation and I found it accumulated a lot of condensation. To get more height I use some paracord to pull the two ends of each pole closer together. My overall feeling is use it as a hammock all year round and as a bivy, it works better in the summer.

I'm from Finland. In the Nordic countries we eat salmon all the time. Not uncommon to eat it like 3 to 4 times a week. Out of curiosity... Salmon is not that intrinsic to the UK rivers... Is it somewhat expensive, and maybe oftentimes imported from Scandinavia?

Looking to add a night cat to the pack, trade it for my existing tents inner and existing hammock maybe, no reason to ditch my outer and poles as they'd make an extra layer when tarps not an option and double as a gearstore outside the cats space too.

Just wondering Dan, could part of the condensation be down to ground moisture, as you didn't use a groundsheet under the night cat? I realise most of it's cos you lose the airflow under the tarp when pitched on the ground. Great video, thanks Dan

Also had another idea after seeing someone elses set up vid, a small crafted bedframe underneath to get you off the floor, just a few inches should be good but the tent 'floor' should have enough slack to go over nicely, karrimat on top and ofc guard against any sharp edges then peg the Cat down over. I need a Cat now just to do that video haha. Pad the void with dry leafage etc as well if you can.
