While I totally vibe with all the Pacman choices, I personally would have made an exception in terms of the colors just to make an all blue one to reference his power pellet state. It's unquestionably iconic, and it would be kinda his edgier alt i suppose. Also that Ms Pacman message killed me, im wheezing over here

Idk if this already in the video but I always found it strange that 64 Pikachu and jigglypuff were the only ones to get fun cosmetics on them and stuff. Thr pokemon alts are already super disappointing with the lack of shinier but it would have been super cute to have little cosmetics on like some of the other mon.

The biggest tragedy of these alt changes is the loss of Pac-Man's home cooking getup, but the alternate designs are objectively more meaningful (and easier to distinguish from one another, which is a plus)

The reason why PAC-LAND gets so much representation in super smash bros. Is because that was the game which inspired Shigeru Miyamoto to include horizontal scrolling in the original Super Mario Bros. This was confirmed in an interview. (I forgot who it was with)

@@just-yellow 'Better' doesn't always mean 'accessible to more people'. Of course it's not gonna be more accessible than the english one. But from a standpoint of someone who CAN use both, I find Pokewiki to have an overall nicer look, better arrangement of information and is overall easier to navigate (from my experience at least). I prefer to use it over Bulbapedia any day.

I do like the minor tweaks on DK’s alts. Especially the Original DK, Super DK and the black alt where he has the purple tie since purple is my favorite color. (Rest in Pepperonis Purple DK alt) And as for Pac-Man, at first I would say recolors of him to reference the Ghosts and maybe Golden Pac-Man would work. But your solution of using Mrs Pac-Man, Pac-Man Jr, etc surprise me, while looking a lot better. Good job!

For the green Donkey Kong alt, I think you should differentiate the red letters from the orange tie, maybe with a lighter orange or a darker red. But your point still stands, these are really good reinterpretations for DK's color palettes.

I love the change in the icons for each alt but one slight nitpick for Sonic is that the icon for the Werehog inspired alt could have totally been his icon from his game of origin. You have a Modern icon, a Classic icon and there too is the Werehog icon. I get it makes more sense cause it’s not exactly the Werehog but rather a recolour unlike the classic Sonic alt, I just think it would have been cool. Still, Love the videos!

Pac-Man's 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th slots if they weren't Ms. Pac-Man would probably be: > Silvery gloves, purple boots, and a knight hat (Pac-Motos Charge mode) > Green gloves, pink boots, slightly greener skin, and a pink pair of headphones (Miru, with the bow being replaced with Pac-Man's headphones from the flyer) > Blue spiked gloves, red and grey spiked boots, skin tone matching World Rally Toc-Man (Reference to all 3 of Toc-Man's designs pre-Re-Pac) > Patchwork red-pink-cyan-and-orange gloves, black boots, and those novelty New Year glasses but they say 7650, worn at an angle above his eyebrows (Pac-Man 256 - the gloves are in reference to Glitchy, the boots are like the maze but mostly just for edge points, and the glasses reference how the glitch-wall and Glitchy both emit numbers and letters, as well as the goroawase code for "Na-mu-ko" used in many Pac-Man games, including Pac-Mania)

Pac-Man has come in different entire colors though, just look at multiplayer Pac-Man games like Battle Royale, there's even plush toys of his red, blue and pink variants! And in some instances there's this really neat lime green Pac-Man too. What I am most surprised about is that since his entire moveset revolves around referencing NAMCO as a whole, how come his official color palettes didn't do just that too?

The only change I'd do for DK the 1st was to make his Tie red and white, in reference to the Donkey Kong GB box art Pac Land is represented heavily because it was actually the first platform game with side scrolling. I'd love your take on Link for this. My frustration for his costumes is pretty much how you describe your frustration for Donkey Kong's costumes. They really couldn't make any model changes so the Twilight Princess, Dark Link and Fierce Deity costumes looked more in line with their canon appearances? They could have even used the same edited model for the Twilight Princess and Dark Link costumes!

Seeing content creators I like talking about my all-time favorite thing that happens to be niche makes my neurons activate and release dopamine c: You did a great job on the Pac-Man/Ms. Pac-Man alts! Changing the skin tone to be a slightly different yellow is something I didn't even think of, but works well. Personally, I'd prefer to have Ms. Pac as a full echo fighter -because I'm biased- for multiple reasons, and would give Pac more deep-cut reference alts like Super Pac-Man, his Pac & Pal headphones, his knight armor from Pac 'n Roll, and even adding a chef hat to his existing oven-mitts alt to both fit the theming, and be a subtle reference to the obscure and bizarre Pac-Man Pizza Parlor. But as far as having having both of them on the same slot, this is the best way to do it. I also feel giving Pac-Man full-color swaps wouldn't be too weird. It'd give them a chance to reference the ghosts, and despite Smash not doing this, various Pac-Man games and even *merchandise* from before and after Smash 4/Ultimate has portrayed Pac-Man in other colors than his iconic yellow. This makes me question if Bandai Namco even have it down on paper what the Pac-Man brand rules are or if people just ask a bunch of different executives on the spot and nobody actually talks to one-another. Last thing I'll say on Pac is that I think his stock icons should have the hats that his alts have. Your takes on new Donkey Kong alts are also really great and makes me realize just how poorly-done the actual ones are reference-wise (though if they actually used these alts I'd miss the purple alt just because it reminds me of BonziBuddy and that's funny) Some characters I'd like to see you tackle are Mario and Wario. Mario has some alts I don't find particularly appealing (green, black, US patriotism), the Waluigi alt just feels really redundant when Luigi already has it, and they removed the Fire and Wario alts, which I think were both great. Wario is one where I find the decision to make his biker outfit take up four slots is really unnecessary when his overalls can make for more appealing alts and references, and he could maybe even have things like his different hats from the Wario Land series, or his WarioWare DIY outfit.
