I'd have to go with a Brown bear over a Silverback, but I'd have to admit that both are going to come out of that fight tore up and if you were to see just either one separate from the other, you'd think they'd both lost. It wouldn't matter that the Silverback has more strength relative to its body weight. The bear just has so much more mass and would rip the gorilla up. I'm sure the bear would get bit a bunch, but they always get bit a bunch, their skin is so thick and strong. Bear 100%.

The only thing the Silverback has over the brown bear, is intelligence. There is only 1 thing the gorilla can do to the bear and that is latch onto its back and try and snap it's neck or suffocate it, and in reality I don't think the gorilla has the strength to snap poohs neck at that. So yeah, definitely brown bear.
