I would love to see a video about the 1904 Olympic Marathon, with it's modern olympics first ever's in performance enhancing drug usage and first almost recorded fatality, Lorz's hitchhiking adveture to the finish, literally everything about Felix Carvajal, the experiment on dehydration....oh and did i forget the 10 greek runners who had never run a marathon before, and the one of two african participants who was run a mile off course by wild dogs?

Seeing the terrible relations between countries and the very unhealthy competitions they had back in the day, and then seeing today's athletes sharing medals and embracing each other irrespective of race, gender and nationality makes one feel that the world is far better off today😊
@adolfpereira33133 жыл бұрын
Relations between countries are WAY worse today, the only thing is that they hide it very well and people act like they are all nice people because they get paid a lot more when they fake it.

@@arandombard1197 What kind of mentality is that? That's like saying that Mexican or Peruvian pronunciation is wrong because Spain Spanish is correct and everyone in Latin America is borrowing it. Or Canadian French is wrong because they're borrowing it from France, etc. Many languages are spoken in different places and to say that the original place is "our language" is just unnecessarily hubristic. People all over the world speak English and people from Britain, America, India, Australia, Canada, etc. will naturally have some slight differences in pronunciation. If you want to know what linguistic "borrowing" actually is, then actually educate yourself on linguistic theory rather than ignorantly making cocky assertions. Thank you!
@arandombard11973 жыл бұрын
@@양지혜-i3h Because it is our language. Ours is the most important when it comes to the correct pronunciation. We don't have to qualify it. You're certainly allowed to pronounce it differently, but make sure to call it American English. However, when we use English without qualifiers, it defaults to us. Don't like it? Create a new language.
