Great info David as usual. I too enjoy an intriguing story to spice up the effect and send chills down my spectator's spine.

I discovered Bizarre Magic just earlier this year, and it's an absolutely different area of magic. Thank you so much for making this video. I definitely will have to invest myself in this category. I love storytelling but need to work a lot on that. I hope later this year I will be able to perform something that is more special than just general usual magic tricks. Thank you once again!

Love the videos! My 13 year old asked if I was watching the guy with “all the same thumbnails ?” It’s something I had noticed but now it sticks out as an “older “you tube thing. Maybe different thumbnails would make youngsters click on. Just a thought. Keep up with the history of magic, it’s great stuff!

Great introduction to Bizarre magic😀 Atmosphere, context and story. I think you summarised what makes Bizarre magic impactful to me. I don't think an emphasis on these qualities is or should be exclusive to Bizarre magic and wish there was a universal term for performers and performances that fulfill that criteria. Other than just "great" and other complimentaries or "Bizarre"

I don't always comment! Oh, wait... OK, being serious, I totally agree with the deinition given here rather than the hugely expanded one which seems to include pretty much everything. A fantastic explanation of is on Keith Hart's channel (all of which is worth checking out by the way) in a video called "What is Bizarre Magic?" I would link, but KZbin would just remove the comment, so you'll have to find it yourself. It's well worth the few seconds a search will take though.

This is from a discussion board "Well, the term "Geek" is referred to a freak who will basically eat anything (live snakes, rats, whatever), But the term geek magic is loosely based off of this definition. Geek Magic is basically any form of magic that involves a freak show style (thread, for example, is a geek trick)" Maybe I should take a deeper dive into Geek magic

@@DavidDellman Harry " The Hat" Anderson did one and he explains on this as well, it always fascinated me on this effect. That would be great to have a segment on "Geek" Magic, the origin of it and how it has come to present. The razor eating then coming out on aa string also is a eye catching one as well. Thank you David! =)

I do not think that one can give a complete definition of Bizarre Magic as it covers so many different styles that are done under that word. Still, this is a great introduction to this style of magic. Also here are two other books on this subject: Bizarre Magic by Larry Baukin and Olde Magick from Dragon-Fire Castle by Mazarin Arathorn.
