Story-wise, it would have been cool if the pocket watch was stopped at the time of the altercation and had a cracked glass front as if the bullet had grazed the watch and it was what saved the person from dying

This would be a great gift for someone who isn't a magician but always wanted to learn one really good trick or someone who has dinner parties and entertains a lot. They could even weather the cards, wallet and watch to make them appear older and more authentic.

The routine is solid and the props look gorgeous. I've done it a lot and people love holding the watch and pouch and looking over the photos. You don't have to claim it's "authentic", just talk about what it would have been like to see a western gunfight.

I have something similar (featuring ms Green) and like it, except for one very poor out. This looks like a nice easier to carry alternative, but for the price I would like to see 4 strong outs.

More expensive than the other "western themed" tricks, but you get a lot with this one. And, since it's distributed by Alakazam you're not killed with shipping costs. "The Con" and "Free William Hicks" have been solid features for me and I've used "The Altercation" to very good responses.

Thanks for the warning about 2 of the outs being weaker. I don't really care if it's 3 or 4 outs I'm just looking for a trick where all the outs are strong but they rarely show the multiple outs in the trailers. I was hoping the pocket watch might have a date function so it could be used with The 1914's Thy Will Be Done tarot card trick. Hmm I'll skip this one.

Interesting’’Stuff’ as usual from your good self David and ‘Dead Rebel’…the investment alone for this as a ‘prop’ makes it worthwhile, it strengthens/supports my interest in the ‘Wild West’…Dead Rebel fans in The UK could swap out the Pocket Watch for the Bullet that’s included with ‘The Con’ if pocket space is an issue…or maybe just to change the narrative in the story…this one’s flagged as priority in my shopping list…lol…Thanks Again David, Great Stuff..!😇

Great review. I didn’t wait on you this time though, I ordered as soon as I saw it. It’s the first one of Dead Rebels products I was disappointed in. The quality of the leather is not what we have been getting from Dead Rebel in the past. This leather looks cheap to me.

Both really but the wallet is really my biggest disappointment compared to the other I have received from them in the past. I can understand the watch case being thinner and not as nice just because of it having to hold the watch. Maybe I am being too picky but the other ones were so nice. That’s mainly why I like Dead Rebel was the quality of the props. Routines are good but not really anything new. Just good solid routines. Thank you again for the work and time you put into your channel. David

@@davidthompson7764 I'd agree on this one, too. The wallet with "Free William Hicks" was amazing. This wallet is similar to "The Con", but feels slightly thinner. I have all the Dead Rebel effects and know Simon Duggan puts in a lot of work to get props that look good and are still affordable. One standout issue for me is having zippered pouches. Zippers weren't used until much later which is why the "William Hicks" wallet looks so good.

Yes I wondered about the zippers too. I didn’t know really when they came into use. Most people probably will know that we’re not using genuine props from the Wild West but I like for them to look like they are.

I love the idea but the photo cards look so modern and nothing like actual old tin-types or cabinet cards. I wonder if you could use your own truly vintage photos; though that depends on if the cards are gimmicked or marked somehow.

You can get the same pocket watch off temu for $5. I hate when creators over charge especially when a trick like this is nothing new

a large portion of what Temu sells are knockoffs, and as the old saying goes, you get what you pay for. The Better Business Bureau has recorded 1,347 complaints about the retailer and given it an average C rating, with many angry about delivery time and product quality.
