Dave Ingram Kidding me? That's what makes it awesome and you can be proud of it.. It's like mastering the pass. You can reveal what the pass and show it off and the fact that you can do the move is the impressive part

The essence of magic is using sleight of hand to deceive people. To me I don't get as much reward out of magic when I use trick decks. I feel as if I am selling out. For example: 1.You could use a stripper deck and shuffle the cards and use no skill to find there card 2.You could learn card flourishes, false riffles, invisible passes and skillful techniques to deceive people into thinking you shuffled the deck or to manipulate where you want the card to be right in front of there eyes. To me this is 100x more rewarding.

That's a neat trick! Matt one of the negative consequences of the internet age is copyright infringement. Yet another victim of our modern day comforts.
@LegalizeMyFreedom11 жыл бұрын
Is this person infringing on a trademarked card trick? Is this not their video? Maybe the cards are copyright protected?
@ReverendEricHa11 жыл бұрын
David, there's a misconception among laymen that magic tricks are copyrighted, patented or trademarked when most of the time none of that is true, though there are a few exceptions. We magicians have been policing ourselves to keep each other as honest as possible but since our craft revolves around the secrecy, it's not always easy to do so, and since people have started realizing that they can't get in any real trouble except from other magicians, some will try to ride the fine line between something being legal and moral, usually with disastrous outcomes. Matt Dillahunty , I didn't know you were a magician. I'll have to add you to my circle of magicians. (note, I am not xtian or any kind of real believer so no fear of me hounding you over religion)
@LegalizeMyFreedom11 жыл бұрын

I find that sometimes there are cool tricks you can do if you have a bridge deck and a regular deck because a bridge card in a regular deck can go more or less unnoticed and when you riffle through the cards you never see it

The proper method starts by doing the Cros twist by Daniel Cros which uses two hands. The end doesn't use the glide. If you ellusionist demon children would learn to read a book you would learn this the right way as taught by its creator, Paul Harris.
@magicbyspaz3 жыл бұрын
I've kind of never taking a liking to Ellusionist. I always give places the benefit of the doubt to learn, but I wasn't keen on that forum and it turned me off. That is just my opinion.

I know I'm probably being dumb now.. but I've been wondering.. is there any significance or importance behind whether a deck is red or blue? I really just started getting into this a few weeks ago and when I go to buy random decks to practice with, the shop keeper is like staring at me intensely asking whether I want the red or blue deck.. and I don't know man, I just want a standard deck of cards so I can start doing stuff, no one ever told me about those two variants :p
@HishSwish11 жыл бұрын
It literally is just the colo(u)r that is the difference, a deck is a deck, how it looks doesn't have any effect on anything else...!! happy learning :)
@MiaGadegaard11 жыл бұрын
oh I see, that's good to know.. and thanks ^^
@johnthetrickster195711 жыл бұрын
Mia Gadegaard Just ensure that the backs have a white boarder around them as with the bicycle decks. Many tricks will need that.
@ruffcutmagicreview11 жыл бұрын
No there is no difference however red decks are the most common. I will only use a blue deck if I'm doing a color changing deck routine. Also if your just practicing bikes are fine you don't have to get custom decks because they look cool.

Many thanks you guys, fortunately they all seem to have that white edge, so that's nice.. and yeah I kinda prefer the red ones too :p

Why every time I see people get a double lift with three cards they always teach a pinky pull down on the bottom card, it's a waste of time, with three cards a double lift is the easiest thing in the world, you just push the two cards over using the meaty part of your thumb Palm, while holding back the bottom card simple. There is no need for a pull down pinky break, or any break whatsoever stop it.

+Lost Art Magic i can also post a video of how to repair a car yourself. Doesn't mean all the car-dealers are going out of business. It's just harder to do yourself. I you're a magician, you just chose a job in which you depend highly on secrets, so you're kinda.. more vulnerable and dependant. although you're right in a way, it's not very respectful to just reveal all secrets like that.
