Agreed. It is a bit odd how loud the noisy elements are, if it was equalized better I’d say it’s probably some of my favorite work of hers since her second album, it’s got a lot of that vibe to it while also updating the sound, & adding tons of real instrumentation. Definitely love the video though, I get how it could be creepy but I honestly was moved by it. If you haven’t already, check out the video for Where is the Line, that one gave me lots and lots of nightmares in my younger days

This is beautiful. Those complaining about the mix and 'noise' have no idea. It's all intended to create a certain image or situation, if you will, of an internal battle. It supposed to depict chaos and beauty all in one among other concepts that words just can't describe. Excuse me if I sound pretentious but I just couldnt put it any other way. Either you get it or you don't. Bjork is'nt exactly the type of artist that creates things for the average joe who just wants a good tune to put on and bob his head to. It's supposed to fuck u up, take you out of your comfort zone, unsettle and soothe you all at once. It has always been this way and she's back with the same level of genius of her debut. This is amazing. Go grab some headphones, let go of expectations and listen again.
@rvufo5 жыл бұрын
Ale Swanson they’re mostly talking about the actual quality of the mix. not the concept of the mix. it sounds more intentional on certain speakers, but sounds actually bad on some other speakers. a lot of Utopia has that mastering problem. Also the audio in the Mouth Mantra video is badly remixed, as well, for some reason. Thr audio levels are fucked. Maybe there are rendering issues on some of her videos and the compression becomes off. it’s a shame because the original versions are amazing... the remixes degrade the quality most of the time..

About Bjork being a triple Scorpio! Liza Hall quotes her in "Interview" magazine article with John Savage in 1995 (the June issue, I believe) [1], in which she talked about her own chart--her mother is apparently a hippy and had her chart done, and Bjork recited enough of the details to enable us to figure out her time of birth. She was born Bjork Gudmundsdottir in Reykjavik, Iceland on November 21, 1965, and she's a triple (!) Scorpio. She herself said, "My mum is heavily into these things [astrology], and apparently I’m as much Scorpio as one can be... I've also got my moon in the twelfth house, in Scorpio, and my sun in Scorpio in the first house, and also Neptune. Then on my other half, my generational picture, I've got Pluto and Uranus in Virgo, and my midheaven is in conjunct with those two. Virgo is the sign of the nurse, so this means I was born to nurse my generation. I’m still 50-50 about whether this is true, but I was breast-fed on it."

Grammys are overrated. She has 15 noms, 0 wins because they’re biased to US pop stars. She’s an international Icon. She has the most nominations (9) and wins (4) for The Brit Award for International Female Solo Artist (Billie Eilish won for 2021), music video awards, song/album awards, awards for acting and an Oscar nomination for best original song. This is one of the many reasons why I love Björk so very much, she always manages to evolve her talent and her music in her own environment without getting infected by mediocrity from the outside world, she's the mold to her own self, unique and splendid.

it really is amazing to see the evolution of her music and style.

We LOVE this. It helps to heal the dissonance ;) Thank you, once again! for alllllll the creations + voyages + planets of exploration + definition in sound(s) you’ve made. They have connected a journey to total bliss, like a fertile place in some otherwise static entropy.
@maxxsteele93965 жыл бұрын
Dissonance isn't a bad thing in the right context. You can't just use that word arbitrarily. You can have cognitive dissonance and you can have harmonic dissonance. But just using it by itself requires a qualifier. You fucked up using that word because you wanted your writing to be insightful.

@@virusddd9448Not really, I just listen to glitch music a lot. If you wanna get into it you can check out albums like: -Opto Files by Opto -Unieqav by Alva Noto -Tri Repetae by Autechre -Dataplex by Ryoji Ikeda I can see a lot of influence from these and many other artists in Björk's latest albums. So, I think it's a genre you might enjoy. Have fun!

They are. The vocals on the original album track are much more distinctive. Also, if you read description to this video, Bjork says she recorded vocals with different tones of voice for right and left speakers separately. But they are for some reason muffled up and mixed into one voice track in this video

@Nostalgic Storm Waver I've tried both my Samsung in-ear headphones with emphasized middle and high frequencies and professional AKG K530 closed-back headphones. Video version vocals sound worse than the album version in both cases.

This song is so beautifully dysphoric but goes so hard at the same time. For the full experience please listen to the album version, this mix is not as good and doesn't showcase the incredible production done by Rabit, Björk, and Arca
