They both have huge spheres of influence, especially when you consider the influence they have on other musicians. Bjork, whilst not much of a rocker these days, has influenced countless "rock" bands, including those as heavy as Carcass. And Patton is primarily a rock musician but he has done so much outside of the genre. The stuff he did with John Zorn is waaay out there. Cool to see them work together. I guess with how much collaboration they both do it was bound to happen sometime!
@yknush2 жыл бұрын
i think that mike patton is more of an avant-garde musician than a rock one, you should listen to Maldoror - She, is one of his noise projects, this one with fuckin merzbow one of the greatest japanoise compositors, really outstanding

@mrmatymoo I figured itd be extremely easy to see why they make a perfect fit to work together. Theyre both extremely experimental with each thing they do. They both play with vocal arrangements like crazy. That both have individualistic voices. And they both are producers. I think its a perfect fit and wish theyd work on more together.

@spadehatesscrewtube - Maynard? While he may be a talent, Mike Patton does laps around him! Not only in the quantity of material produced, but the myriad of genres, and then when it comes to songwriting the man is a genius.. see Mr Bungle, Fantomas etc. Then work like this with Bjork etc. Also he has his own label and has found MANY amazing talents. He is the full artist doing everything possible. Maynard is stuck in a single genre, he only broke out with Puscifer so far (kinda like peeping tom)
