This is fantastic. As far as what could be used in place of arrows, the Star Wars universe has what I would say are 3 suitable choices for projectiles: blasters, bowcasters and "slugthrowers." We all know Obi-Wan's opinion on blasters being that they are clumsy and random so I'd rule that out. Bowcasters are almost exclusively used by Wookies so I'd rule them out too. Slugthrowers, however, seem fitting to a degree. Slugthrowers are projectile weapons of choice for Tuskan Raiders. They are also somewhat more effective against lightsabres since the slug will melt upon contact unlike blasters which can be deflected and repelled back towards aggressors, and I feel that this would garner a little more respect from Obi-Wan. Though slugs could be still be deflected with the use of the force. Having Tuskan Raiders act as enemies in a game could allow for them to occasionally drop slugs when they are defeated. So if I had to choose a projectile it would be good old basic bullets. Overall though, I think some kind of representation of charged up special Force uses would fit Obi-Wan better. Like special moves you can store up for use against tougher enemies or bosses such as throwing the lightsabre and having it return by use of the Force, or against environmental factors such as moving large objects out of your path similar to moving a rock in the Pokémon games,
@BJGpixel2 жыл бұрын
Oh awesome thanks for that breakdown! Yeah I totally agree about the blasters not quite fitting for Obi. Hadn't considered the slugthrower, that's a really interesting choice and would actually suit the stye of having a consumable type of ammo to collect - but ultimately I think you're right that the whole system would really have to revolve around force powers. It'd be interesting to see that kind of thing integrate into this style of game; both for combat and puzzles! :D

Blue Milk could be an item... like a Health or Mana Potion, probably mana... I think just making a little blue milk-carton would be cute :^) The Rebreathers in Ep1 could act like the classic "Flippers" Could collect Ingots... for crafting or trading. Maybe collect little CDs for a soundtrack/radio like the Pokegear? To play over non-Event BGM. Maybe the 3rd collectable could be Water (Moisture) you could have areas of the map slowly bleed HP... like 1-HP/sec, and could interact with the evaporators to get Water that like buffers the Tatooine heat... could even use it like an alternate currency or something. Gotta have the Link's Awakening fishing minigame!

Hey Brendan! For your CRT time shots I recommend double checking your cameras shutter speed and/or HZ setting. Depending upon where you live you may want to make sure your camera is recording 25/30fps and has a shutter speed of 1/50 or 1/60, if your based in the states you’ll also want to make sure that your camera is in a 60Hz setting which hopefully it’s defaulted to. This should help get rid of the rolling lines that you see in your background lights. You may also want to look at getting brighter lights to help match your exposure with your CRT machine, I’d recommend looking at getting the new Apature Amran 60d or 60x you can then gel these lights to keep your red and blue look but also make them brighter to help match your exposure to your CRT! Alternatively you could also look at getting a cut of ND gel, this would allow you to cut a piece to the exact dimensions of your CRT machine and darken the brightness to match your lighting! You don’t need to make sure you can see everything but any level adjustments that don’t require you to change your camera settings to much will help give you more control of your image! Frigging love the content I just wish I could play games with your art!
