For anyone who doesn’t know. Gordon Ryan did a fundraiser at Marcelo’s school to help raise money for his cancer treatment. Dillon was pissed off at this and leaked Marcelo’s number out online and went on a rant saying terrible things about Marcelo who currently was dealing with cancer. Imagine a man battling cancer and you decide to leak his number to the world and have him now deal with constant calls and texts all day long. It’s no wonder why everyone in his life has distanced themselves from Dillon. Even Conor kicked him out of his corner team and stopped inviting him to training camps

Did Ariel really ask a middle aged Marcelo Garcia who competed at 77 kilos if Gordon Ryan is high on his list for future opponents? Unironically?

Pure ignorance of the sport, lol. Marcelo shouldnt be facing anyone more than 5 years younger than him, period. If he was 35, sure, but theres a reason t 40+ year old MMA and grappling champions are extremely rare. Age related physical decline is real.

Was hoping he would drop the real stories about what a horrible person DIllon is in real life. Unfortunately, he's too classy for that, and took the high road. As a person who witness what a trash human being Dillon is, Karma is the greatest way to explain what has happened to him now.

Marcelo never talks shiet like that. Not that it’s bad just in nearly thirty years you never hear him say too negative stuff

But is he a CJI champion ? Hahahahaha.

…dude not to Marcelo, even Craig be disappointed in you. He was begging to get Marcelo on as super fight and said so on Rogan. He retired n just beat cancer . On top Hes the Michael Jordon of jiu jitsu no one doesn’t like him

Love Marcelo, but at 42, he is way past his prime, and these types of masters superfights are all he should do, if he chooses to continue to compete. Props for Imanari to accept at 49, WAYYY past his prime, but who wouldnt want a crack at Marcelo in a supermatch, I guess. In any case, as a black belt myself, I noticed a marked decline in my speed and quickness starting at about 37. This is vs guys in their 20s. Marcelo shouldnt face anyone more than 5 years younger than him, IMO.

@@timothycarey3883 Yeah, he got away with it when the bigger guy wasn't as skilled, but once ur past a certain point, it's becomes too hard.

@interestedparty7523Ай бұрын
@@l.em.t3819 I've never seen a legend return after a long layoff and look the same. Roger beating Buchecha don't count, Roger was keeping busy in MMA and it was a gi match, so athleticism is a slightly lesser factor.
@user-vc6Ай бұрын
‘Marcelo always struggled’ Buddy Marcelo without question is the most decorated giant slayer in jiu jitsu history !“ He’s never beat anyone bigger than Gordon” omg please stop pretendingyou watched his matches . …. his most famous match He beat Ricco Rodriguez who was 300 pounds returning adcc (also former UFC champion,) ncaa wrestler too funnily enough Garcia out wrestled him with drags.. He beat every big guy gi n no gi besides Roger…. When he fought super heavy Robert drysdale for 1st place in adcc open weight , Robert drysdale cheated n adcc recognizes this . Drysdale got a bye then he faced his team mate Andre Galvao who threw the match ( Galvao admitted n was suspended). Meanwhile Marcelo had submitted 7/7 opponents in hard ass matches. They had a rematch 3 months later and Marcelo Beat him … Marcelo got 3rd place in 2005 only losing to jacare… just actually watch his open weight matches in 2005 n 2007 and you’ll have a impression of insanely good he was at beating big dudes. The cacareco n rolls jr match just show he was on a different planet … Marcelo stopped doing open weight before retirement because it’s hard as fuk on your body n huge injury risk adrenaline filled super heavyweights are not idea to face a lot at 169-175
