She’s telling them to think for themself while telling them what to think with her machine. I thought that was kinda interesting.

to add on, there's the fact that some of what she says is whispered before she sings it, almost as if she's being told what to say... my first time watching the video, but I've always found that detail in the song so scary

Brilliant woman! Always hated how mainstream media and the "know-nothings" portrayed her as weird and crazy. Genius!
@LightLife45 жыл бұрын
That's one of the many reasons why I like her as both an artist and as a creative. She isn't afraid to do her own thing regardless of how people view her. You'd have thought by now that the people behind the clone-types e.g. Little Mix, One Direction, Girls Aloud, West Life and the other manufactured groups would have figured by now why people like Bjork, Goldfrapp, Kate Bush and David Bowie have actual staying power.

I am not aware of any comments Bjork made on Kosovo, the Balkans and/or Eastern Europe so I couldn't possibly comment on that ==/A\==. Nothing ever stays the same.. but equally it is true to say that 'history repeats' sometimes endlessly it seems.

I’d love to hear her intended meaning behind this song. The video seems as if she is portraying a catch 22. She is telling her people to declare their independence, but her people, like AI, seem to be blind followers. If she is programming (or brainwashing) these people to seek freedom, and they follow what they are programmed to do, is that true freedom? Have they actually reached consciousness? If these people blindly (key word: blindly) obey that order, they are still following their leader’s demands and are not truly free. This may be a representation of something greater, whether that be a specific country’s government or a general mindset. What do you think?

The first time I watched this video, I saw a propaganda machine (the guitarist) with a charismatic leader (Björk) brainwashing people (the soldiers) who have no way of accessing other media (the ropes and closed room) with a script written by a hidden elite (the sprays at the roof, someone not seen in the video is operating them) that put a select few (the soldiers upstairs that aren't raising the flag) in charge of controlling the new country and how it portrays itself (the painting). Basically, how many dictatorships were born. Then I read about Björk and thought that most likely was the polar opposite of her actual intention, lol.
@bookowl17756 жыл бұрын
@@Iunanec But it looks like that, yes! Maybe it is, tho. I mean, she also has a song called Unison that say we should unite, we should not fight. And this song... maybe just means: do not let other people stop you from being you: Declare independence from them!!! But then, nations separatism..... I dont think so :/
