Imagine driving around at night on a road without lights, you notice a car waiting at the side of the road and it pulls out behind you as soon as you pass it. Then it keeps up with you as you try to get away.

the opels are good at this. my k-astra also has a madrix led which is not typical for that category.

I have to say I've driven quite a few EVs before I came to a conclusion so I bought the Mokka Ultimate in green as in my avatar and the more I drive it the more I love it I've done 160-mile journeys with no problem with still 37 per cent left over and it was 32 Celcius so I had the airconditioning full on and in normal mode as in econ it turns the aircon off the lane keeping and adaptive cruise worked amazingly most of the time it would have driven itself if I let it which made the drive so easy and relaxing with the seat massaging my back while going along just perfect But now then I think iw wouldn't have done this distance with so much as a few weeks before it went in for a software upgrade and boy did it make a difference the power was a .lot more basically the econ mode was like the normal mode the speed was not restricted anymore and the normal mode was like sports mode and sports mode well Yay just great so much difference plus I noticed the battery took more charge than normal now I've had it up to 219 miles on a couple of charges so a big difference plus the drive system stopped going into park while in traffic which was embarrassing now that's fixed I am so happy with the car apart from the crappy boot space but now its a great car to drive i will forgive that issue i can still get four bags of shopping in it with no problem anything else the seats have to go down but as i said i love this car and I am glad i got it For my needs, it is spot on but if you want to travel great distances maybe you should be looking at the MGs evs but for normal use and travelling from the midlands of Warwickshire to the coast it's an easy trip without charging east west and south but south-west you will need a charge or maybe to depending on how much weight and people you are carrying so maybe an MG or something in that range mind you you would have to stop anyway for a rest so charging on these are quick so it's up to you really I know my range rover used to use two tanks of fuel to get down to Cornwall with a caravan on her back so it's not much difference to a fuel-powered car and I have to say I didn't get any range anxiety going to Lowestoft from Warwickshire and back the house we rented had a 7kw charger included so it cost me nothing to run around for a week I just plugged her in at night ready for the next day so now if you look at most holiday homes a lot do have 7kw chargers included with the charge so the charging infrastructure is getting there in the UK slowy but surely another couple of years should see the entire country covered i notice BP now are fitting chargers in there petrol stations which is cool i don't know how many have been converted or added yet but at least they see the writing on the wall not like others.

Opel has had these lights since 2016 with the Astra (my prev. car). Pretty good if you need them.

I’m wondering how bad is for the car in the front. Obviously the Mercedes gets some time pretty much light from the Opel Mokka. I think for the front car is worst than a car behind with normal dimmed headlights. Does anyone here know about some technical comparisons?

These matrix led lights don't turn from left to right, but do have an extra corner light in the headlight unit. At lower speed, the front fog lights act like cornering lights.

Yes that is correct. I have found it very useful when turning into my drive at night. Bjorn, if you check out the manual you will see that the spread and range also changes with the speed of the car. That would be difficult to show in a vlog.

When will Tesla catch up on headlights?! Even a sub-compact like this has decent lights that really show up USDM headlights. We don’t all suffer under restrictive US Federal lighting rules. Hopefully as Giga Berlin comes online, we can get some decent lights. My ten year old Mercedes had better lights than my S.

Having driven the new Corsa with Matrix LED at night I can confirm, by comparing it with this video, that the Mokka-e has more LED segments. It can adapt more granularly. Edit: The Corsa only had about 4 segments on each headlight if I remember correctly.

0:29 0:36 1:00 1:29 1:41 1:50 2:01 2:16 2:27 2:30 2:53 nice glare for the person in front, you can partial see the reflection on the inside mirror very well. Too sluggish system for such streets. It is quite possible that the man in front only wanted to gain distance so that he is not constantly blinded.

Arent all cars with greater than standard halogen headlights required to have automatic headlight height adjustment in norway? I am under the impression there is sensors in the suspension detecting any unwanted tilt and adjusting headlights accordingly. Is this not the norm? My impression from watching this video is that adjustment happens slightly delayed so not really aniticipated, rather adjusting after the fact. ( i have little experience with this feature )

Best way to find out if the lights blind the driver in front is to get a friend in front use the Matrix lights and see wether they blind or not

These light doesn't seem to dim around traffic signs (reflective objects)? You still get dazzled, the reflection on those sign are very bright and intense!

How does Matrix LED work on motorway? Does it recognize trucks in the opposite lane coming towards you?

I own a opel corsa with the led matrix light. I can confirm they do not blind trucks as far as Iam aware. I have driven in the night and I never got anyone upset so.. But it is a good unit best in the segment to be honest the corsa got 8 led units (4 in each headlight unit) the mokka got 14 (7 in each unit) if Iam correct. Even if there are street lights the headlights adapt on highway, city, rain or even when parking(that's what opel says atleast I never saw a big difference) they control there light intensity. If you are looking to buy a opel with matrix i should say just spec them they are worth it.

Hint: The Matrix LED System does not work during heavy rain or fog because the system is camera based
