@@susihormon7821 Sure VW still produces a lot of fossil cars (much more than 80%). But anyone in VW knows the transistion is in progress and accelerating fast and fossil fuels have no future in the car industry. Not all companies have fully embraced this idea yet as much as VW is doing it.

@@EverydayRoadster So what. Ever heard of always doing the same mistake? Sorry, i never saw a chart where he shows the measures of kWh from the chargers compared to what the cars shows. The biggest problem is that in the tesla bubble you have to believe what elon tells you. There is no display in the SuC or a counter to control. Tesla is hidding lots of infos and does it on purpose.

@@jfolz I saw a full charging session of the id.4. the charger showed 82 kWh, but there is only 77 kWh usable. It could be the heater running for one hour. We have to watch if the carmakers show those heating lost, when the tms kicks in without any user control.

Here in the U.K., that cost per kWh (165 NOK) equates to 14pence so basing my calcs on 3 miles per kWh, 10,000 miles would require 3,333 kwhs of energy in a typical year, that’s £465 per annum, assuming you charged on ionity all the time, which most private owners won’t. The range and top-up speeds make this a practical and attractive alternative.

I'm really tempted to get the Enyaq 80 plus, to me it looks like the best compromise. getting the best of VW group MEB platform at cheaper prices and access to Ionity at better rates, and also. I'm really not keen on the Tesla Tax (like iphone tax) where you pay for the top of the line/design. especially when i don't completely agree on many of the design choices of their cars. (I'm not a minimalist, so really dont like the deal with having to use the screen for everything. i like dedicated buttons for and i dont like being a betatester of software controlling essential functions of a vehicle going at motorway speeds.

regarding the heat pump issues there is a very good video from nextmove (in German, but I think they do subtitles) and they show that the Id3 WITH heat pump has a higher consumption than one without. so it’s obvious they have not gotten to that bit of the software (as spring and summer are coming, I guess thats good prioritization). currently it only runs to dry the air but does not extract any heat, so it runs in addition to the normal resistive heater.

No ID before MY2024 and ID Software 4.0 has any preheat of battery before charging and will only ever heat the battery up to 0°C with the latest software update 3.2, but can now charge with up to 175kW in perfect conditions. Late to the VW party as ruled them out due to dodgy software and interiors, but giving the facelifts serious consideration. Really intrigued by your top buffer calculation, which shows same top buffer size as my e-Niro... but I understand these cars degrade capacity while the Niro still has is 64kWh useable after over 3 years. Why are the VWs degrading range? Do they not sacrifice top buffer, or is it theore aggressive charging curve? Or something else? You've not done a degradation test on an old Niro - maybe because they don't? Would love to see a video on that because with the possible exception of MG the Korean 400V cars seem fairly unique in this.

The driver should be able to choose whether they want to preheat the battery or not. This isn't rocket science. The option should flash up on the screen to preheat the battery yes or no, simple.

MG ZS EV can do this, as the only EV. Not even Tesla allows it fully manual.

@o00scorpion00o
@o00scorpion00o 3 жыл бұрын
@@volkerblume238 I would turn on the battery heating before I reach the next charger because cold batteries can add significant time to a charging session which today in 2021 is unacceptable when some cars already have battery heating it should be used also to speed up charging and not just exist to only allow max regen and acceleration, that can be controlled automatically buy the cars computer but should also be option not to heat the battery to save energy for short distance. The car should be intelligent enough to pop up the option "do you want to preheat the battery for fast charging, rapid charging, DC charging" whatever People want to call it.

Well done ! When you do the banana box test, can you add also the dimensions of the entries? While you can add many small boxes, which is the largest box you can put inside? As an example, my car's largest entry, the trunk, is (l x h) 120cm X 92cm and all items below this side can be put in the car. Can you can try a giant (180X200) Ikea mattress, or a LED TV box, or a MTB box test as well ? :)

There is also a higher consumption since you arent using a true camping mode when sleeping in an ID3/4. Tesla probably shuts off many unneeded functions to only maintain the heating/ventilation etc.
@bjornnyland
@bjornnyland 3 жыл бұрын
Nope, it's the same. The reason for high consumption probably has something to do with the heat pump not working optimally. Maybe it's running PTC heater.
@volkerblume238
@volkerblume238 3 жыл бұрын
@@e-redj Are you sure that you can not combine the PTC and Battery Heat with valves as input for the heat pump. I would always construct it like this in order to benefit from the battery dissipation.
