Ey up Bjorn Looking at the spreadsheet I can see that you have the prices in the right hand side. Probably you could create a new unit. Price per speed. Krona per km/h. Or Euro per km/h. (Not sure what your currency is exactly) Let's take the second car in your list. 750 000 kronas / 10 hours driving time = 75 kronas / km/h (approximately of course) Then let's take the Ioniq 28 kWh from your list. 250 000 kronas / 12 hours driving time = 21 kronas / km/h (approximately) So that gives you a new insight of is it really worth it to buy a very expensive EV. It seems that the gain isn't so great if you paid a car which is 3 times more expensive. Just an idea :)

The VW ID.4 seems to hit the sweet spot from a value-for-money perspective. It works better than the Model 3 as a family car, and it's cheaper for the same range than the (imported from the US) Model 3 LR. Which makes the Made-in-Germany Model Y even more important and anticipated, as the pricing for it in Europe (highly dependant on how well Tesla manages to ramp up production volume in Berlin) should be very competitive against the various ID.4 variants. 2022 will be the battle of the EV crossovers in Europe, bwahahahaaa!
@nukularpictures3 жыл бұрын
Well the ID.4 is indeed an interesting car. Especially once the release the faster charging option for 175kW. But with Tesla I am not so sure if they can start this year. They do not even have a final permit and all that they are currently doing is with a temporary one so it might requires some changes. All they are doing right now might have to be changed if they are some problems. Right now water is apparently the main question here. However I highly doubt that Tesla is allowed to start production with just a temporary permit plus IG Metal (big powerful union in the car industry) has already said they will protest and potentially try to halt production due to Musk not even entering into negotiations. So all in all I do not think we will see production start in the middle of 2021. It will be close to 2022. Anyway the other MEB cars also look quite interesting so lets see what will happen.
@EinzigfreierName3 жыл бұрын
@@nukularpictures I agree, Model Y will not be a big competitor for ID.4 in Europe this year. Next year is getting much more interesting regarding this "battle".
@Francis-yc9nc3 жыл бұрын
IMHO the Tesla Model Y in europe is expensiv it start in germany at 59K Euro a ID.4 start at 37K Euro alone this price gap is huge and the insurace savings with ID.4 the gap gets even more. it would be intressting if the current sold ID.4 will get V2G support and how much does it cost. when you have a solarroof this will be a big plus.
@WLLiLLW3 жыл бұрын
@@bernhardleopold6702 even when the Model 3 SR+ is quicker than ID.4 - what do you wanna say? If the ID.3 82kw is quicker and cheaper than the M3 SR+ does it mean its the better car? I think overall it just proves that the ID.4 is working well enough for what its meant to be for a competitive price.
@tavi_chocochip3 жыл бұрын
@@Francis-yc9nc Don't trust Tesla's pricing for the Model Y in Europe, it's just a placeholder. It's what they did in Shanghai. They don't want to kill the demand for the (available) Model 3 by showing a price lower than that. Once they actually start production, they get more clarity on their own cost structure, and the cars are available, then the price will be updated.
@SuperMixedd3 жыл бұрын
This seems like a relatively simple mathematical optimization problem: "Given a max capacity of X km per full charge, calculate how often and for how long do you need to stop to charge your vehicle at certain charging currents to get from point A to point B as quickly as possible". I wonder if there are any apps that can do that... Does tesla's onboard computer do this kind of optimization? Maybe I should write a stand-alone app where you input your average kwh consumption per 100km, your max capacity, temperature, etc and it calculates the itinerary??
