This is really beautiful, both the place and to walk there! Viewed from above it looks so cool (and I just feel like somehow knowing, why the place has gotten its name). I'm very sorry about your friend (this is always so sad, and one can do nothing about it 😔). In the old belief all warriors will go to Valhall, and so, in this case, he was there (invisibly) with you.

Two women travel up to valhal just to relieve themselves at the sacred toilet haha! This video was really awesome Björn and when you had mentioned your friend who passed I got very emotional. I realize how it is when we lose someone on the earth plane and I empathized greatly with that. And it wasn't only that which sparked my tears. It was the indescribable beauty of the wilderness which added to the serenity of feeling and the sublime nature of it all. This video reminds me the the song by Amon Amarth "Valhal Awaits Me" and for those of us pure of heart that truly does await us in a metaphorical sense. Thank you for your videos Björn 🙏🍻🤟⚔️

My sincere condolences. What a great way to honor your friend. I lost my father to cancer. He was only 69. But before he died, I told him about how I was really getting into your videos here on KZbin. Specifically, I told him about your definition of a heathen: “of the land”. He loved that; he had always called his children his heathens. We grew up in high mountains hiking and camping as children. He loved how we grew up to be adults still honoring the tradition of walking the real earth, breathing in the fresh mountain air, viewing faraway horizons, camping, hiking, just being. My brother and I used to “tear out”. We would escape “civilization” and be wild in the place where we were born to be: the wilderness. We would go camping literally on a whim - no plans, no Portlandia, just instinct. We would listen bands like Soundgarden and Dimmu Borgir and go the only place in our USA state where we could see more than just a few stars at night: high mountains. To this day, we play guitar and bass once a week.

@@annalisa14 Thank you, I would like to meet you as well, Anna Lisa - it would be an honor. Bjørn Andreas Bull-Hansen has said in his videos that people have literally made friends from getting acquainted as like-hearted individuals from his comments section. As you may be aware, he’s a husband, father, bushcrafter, powerlifter, novelist heathen. I was a husband (now divorced - and single), I’m also a father, weightlifter heathen - and I’m teaching my awesome autistic son camping skills. Bjørn’s channel brings great people together.🔥 Portland, Oregon (as well as that whole northwestern territory) is beautiful - beautiful like you with your pretty face in the picture there.😉 I’ll be in Colorado for the next couple of months. I’m on my seasonal paid vacation from my longtime career. I told my ex-wife that our son will be with me all summer long, she said ok. So if you are interested in meeting me, that feeling is mutual. Colorado is also beautiful and wild, my friend. I look forward to hearing from you!

I cannot get out in nature any more, so to see yours is very uplifting. I was very close to nature not too long ago, but that was too hard on my aging vessel as a singular lady out there. Too many gutters, and staining yearly needed to be done, and the river rose to too high of a levels, and it wasn't right for me any more, as hard as tried to make it there, I could not sustain that level of work required, so now I have almost no nature at all, and I really do love her, nature. I learn the Ogham alphabet and trees now. So keep on keeping on Bjorn, your channel is fun, thank you.

I was happy for you that you were outdoors honoring your friend's memory. At one point, though, my thought was that I was glad you were so far out in the woods where there would not be any other human, and that you were safe. But then, right when I finished that thought you heard voices. Made me nervous for you. So, I am glad you are okay and that you were able to enjoy your night out. Thanks for videotaping your outdoors excursion. Since I can no longer do anything like that, it was quite refreshing to go along with you on your walk. Beautiful views.

What an enchanting place! Those gnarled ancient firs are absolutely beautiful...they remind me of the bonsai trees but instead of being pruned & shaped by a gardner's hands, these are shaped by nature. The burial mound was impressive...I wonder how long it took the old ones to build it? So many stones! Thank you, Bjorn, for sharing Valhalla with us. And, my deepest sympathy to you on the loss of your old friend.

That was a nice video Bjorn, thank you for sharing your trip with us. One thing, though, that was very noticeable to me as a North American woman, was when you crumpled up your dinner bag and stuffed it into the corner of your tent. And then you ate your dinner inside of your tent, albeit in the doorway. It made me think that it must be really nice to backpack and sleep in a place where large predators aren't a big concern. You could completely relax and not have to worry about taking many precautions like we do here, like keeping all food away from your tent and hanging your garbage at night. Anyway, that was just something that I noticed. Also, your tent looked so cozy with the light on inside and dusk coming....it's so nice to crawl into your bed and lay there with the night sounds around you.

I've been to Norway once - visited Tromsø and Lofoten, where I did some hiking around the latter - and loved the country and the people. I used to live in the Pacific Northwest of the USA where I did a lot of hiking, and your videos bring back those times for me. I have a feeling I'm going to be binging on these hike videos! Cheers from Paris! Very sorry about your friend as well. I've lost a few recently. All we can do is keep on going and celebrate their memory along the way.
