This looks a lot like Abeka, which I know you did previously. Did you consider Abeka again? If so, why did you not choose it? We’re in the same predicament you are with leaving dimensions and we did Abeka prior to that…. But I actually regret switching to dimensions.

I did actually consider Abeka, but I really liked the updated BJU pre-algebra. The updates to the curriculum were wonderful in incorporating more technology into the math curriculum.

Thank-you so much for taking the time to film this video. Can I ask you questions because I am not finding a lot of videos about the upper grades for BJU and in my opinion BJU's online previews are not detailed enough. Are you using the online videos or are you using this parent led? How long does a lesson typically take? I am using the old version of BJU in the lower grades, but as I keep adding children on each year, BJU is consuming a huge chunk of our day. It's been very good and thorough, but I am wondering if I could keep up the pace during the middle grades if more of the lesson shifted towards the student rather than the parent? Since you've been using it, are you finding that it is still traditional math or is it common core? Can you film an end of year thoughts on this program if you are too busy to answer questions? Thanks again for all you do.

We are using this as parent-led. My daughter is not great with videos for learning. My portion of the lesson is usually about 20-30 minutes and then she will have problems to complete on her own. I will definitely film an end of the year thoughts video. We are over 1/2 way finished with the curriculum now. I hope this helps!

Are you using this for your 7th grader?

Yes, we are. Currently, we are a little over 1/2 way through the curriculum.
