Keep in mind the wearing of gloves changes the tactics. You cant afford to even take jabs bareknuckle as even a glancing blow can cut and potentially end the fight. Also higher potential for knockout in bareknuckle due to the impact being more concentrated. You cant say gloved fighting is "real boxing" either because non-gloved fighting has been the norm since ancient Greece and is where modern gloved boxing comes from. 18th-19th century gentlemen didnt want their faces bruised and cut and so insisted on wearing mufflers (gloves) to fight. Your "real boxing" came from guys who were more concerned about their appearance than actually fighting.
