Feels very happy and proud I was a yoga student under Guruji BKS Iyengar and his daughter Geethaji and son Prashanth in their Pune institute during 1995. Really, he was a scientific Yoga Guru who spreads it internationally ❤.

I was telling about the knees, but secretly thinking in my heart and mind that this does not still open up as it should be, then this comes to me from the Universe. For a master yogi at the advanced age that he was at this time, he is so full of himself. The way he treats the girl like an object and talks about women is galling. Not all the yogic education could teach him grace and humility. We will be glad when this era of toxic patriarchy is thrown into the trash bin of history.

@@stinew358 The girl is Abhijata, his granddaughter. There is a better way to teach than to force someone's head down and talk about women having bladder issues with his own granddaughter on the podium. We must be able to look beyond the veneration to the obvious flaws of someone who should know better. Yoga is first and foremost about character. Unfortunately, coming from that lineage, Abhijata herself teaches in a way that is rough and disrespectful. Also, you don’t need a weight strapped to your leg in Ardha Chandrasana to know if your raised leg is high or low or just parallel to the floor. Beats me why this is considered an acceptable way of teaching.

The cusion have tiny dips so that the bones can rest perfectly. Flat surface can cause pain and discomfort while doing asanas.
Truly great teacher. But please don't blindly claim that yogasan can cure all disease. As you can see even the great teachers have arthritis and tummies when they grow old. It is not bad or wrong , it is just a rule of nature - accept the body, treat it well, go with the flow, be realistic. No need to be proud of hyperflexibility, no need to feel ashamed if one's body is fat, skinny, short, tall, dark, stiff, or whatever. We are all gifted in different ways.

Iyengar taught.But here many lakhs are suffering from Diabetics.Either they have not pursued or practiced the teachings of yogasana taught by him or no control over food habits.Something wrong some where.
