The reason you run new speaker wire is that when you increase amplifier power (watts) you need a bigger wire for the additional power to flow through. If you keep the stock speaker wire, then you are cutting the maximum performance you can get out of the speaker/amp as the choke point will always be the thin stock wire. This will be most noticeable with bass notes which draw the most wattage from the amp. Eventually you will want to upgrade wire gauge.

For the floor mats, if you lay them out on the concrete on a warm day, the plastic will get softer. Then install it in your van. It will then mold better to the contours of the floor.

You might be able to turn the chime off. Might work for a Ram pro master, definitely works for the Ram trucks…. Get in Van, close all doors. Put your seatbelt on. Turn van on to the run( or last position but before the engine turns over). Wait for seatbelt light to go off. Unclick and click your seatbelt three times in 60 seconds…ending with the seatbelt in. Turn van off. You should hear one chime if it worked. The best thing I've ever learned!

I really recommend a 10 inch subwoofer, or a 12 if u can fit it somewhere, it makes a car stereo sound soooo much better, you don't need to be bumping it or anything like that if that's what your afraid of but it really does complete a car stereo I'm sure you'll agree if you do it. 100% They do make under seat ones that you could put under the passenger seat, I notice you got the amp under the drivers side, and I'm sure your Mrs will appreciate it lol, j/k

I designed some simply to make DIY alternatives to the window vents using plastic about as thick as the glass pane. You sandwich 3 layers together, with the outer layers traced to fit the glass INSIDE the window frame, and the middle layer recessed upward to allow the window glass to slide up and in between the outer layers about 1", and then all around the top and sides, extend out about 1/2" beyond the outer two layers to provide material to slide into where the glass would go when closed. Now you can cut out any size opening, either make vents like here, or in my case, fit a portable air conditioners window vent into one so that I can run it inside the vehicle....

Better way to get rid of the seatbelt beeper is to code it with the ODB interface. Some Ford cars here in the UK you can do it by turning the ignition on and then clicking the seatbelt in and out 3 times within a few seconds.

Found this on the internet for the promaster... Now, Turning to Chapter Eight, Section J - We have instructions for the seatbelt chicken dance... STANDARD PROCEDURE - ENHANCED SEATBELT REMINDER PROGRAMMING The seatbelt indicator also includes a programmable enhanced seatbelt reminder or BELTMINDER feature that is enabled when the vehicle is shipped from the factory. This BELTMINDER feature provides extended and modified visual seatbelt indicator and audible chime warning responses to an unbuckled driver side front seat belt. The BELTMINDER feature may be disabled or enabled by the customer using the programming sequence that follows, or by the dealer using a diagnostic scan tool. CUSTOMER PROGRAMMING SEQUENCE NOTE: The following sequence of events must occur within 60 seconds of the ignition switch being placed in the ON position in order for the programming to be completed successfully. 1. With all doors closed and the ignition switch in any position except ON or START, buckle the driver side front seat belt. 2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position and wait for the seatbelt indicator reminder function to conclude (about six seconds). 3. Unbuckle and buckle the driver side front seat belt three or more times, ending with the belt buckled. 4. Turn the ignition switch to any position except ON or START to toggle the BELTMINDER feature from its current setting (from active to inactive, or from inactive to active). A single chime tone will provide an audible confirmation that the programming sequence has been successfully completed.

The solution to the fan situation is to put a hole in the floor of the van right before the seating area you can get the little door kits that shut and open unlock this way it sucks cold air that collects underneath the van you can also instead of just having an opening put a fan there so you have a fan in the floor and a fan in the ceiling there’s also a mathematical formula to how big the hole needs to be so the fan won’t work too hard there’s also a formula if you’re gonna use a fan instead of a hole this way both fans don’t work too hard and you don’t have a negative pressure situation

For the AMP wiring kit, you will want to use pure copper cable and not CCA “copper clad aluminum.” CCA is highly inefficient and the amp will need to pull more power to counteract the resistance. Also, try to get tinned copper speaker/amp speaker wire. It will prevent copper oxidation that can occur over time with bare copper wire.
@cwheremonster88702 жыл бұрын
I was just going to basically post the same thoughts . Often, we overthink these things. But it usually comes down to resistance. Copper is a night and day difference . CCA should be swapped . Ir doesn’t have to.. but it should be. Man, I don’t miss wiring car audio.

Man, about the seat belt bip. Here in Brazil, most taxi drivers do a hack that is to click the belt before you seat down. In that way, your belt will always be clicked in. When you need to do a short commute, you choose to not use the belt, os just pull the chest part of the belt above your head. In a longer trip, clip it off, and do the right thing.

RMS or root mean square is defined as the average. In terms of noise, it is defined as the process used to determine the average power output (continuous waveform) over a long period of time. To give you an example, a speaker with a 50w RMS rating may be able to handle 150w of power in short bursts (a loud bass kick, or any other loud expression that happens intermittently throughout a song), but for prolonged periods of usage, the average power output should be around 50w for continuous play.

For increased airflow consider cutting holes in the floor of the van. I have done this in my VW T5 campervan and it dramatically increases the cross ventilation inside when the roof vent is running. The bonus is that even in extremely heavy rain you can have good airflow with no water getting inside. You can have the holes big (120mm - like mine) or smaller and even have more than two. The other benefit is that you get true cross ventilation across the entire space of the van, rather than just around the roof. Also much cheaper than another maxair fan.

Hey hey, Just a comment from an audio freak... I will try and explain it as simple as possible Your big speakers in the door have already a set of tweeters build in. The fact that you added another 2 will probably sound worse. This is due to the fact that sound travels in waves and both tweeters sounding a little diffrent but kinda the same. That makes that the wave get messed up. So, if there is anything bothering you (at high volume) that's probably the reason. Also make sure that the 2 extra tweeters only get higher freq. JBL as a complete package with the crossover, tweeter and woofer seperate. If you really like to upgrade the sound in the van, look for an subwoofer (if you don't already have one). And finally, try to have all the speakers from the same brand. If that's not possible for you, try to make sure that your speakers operate in their own freq. Range. By the way, I'm really jealous of your van ahaha. Bye bye👋
