While the CG is detailed, there's something slightly off with the texture that gives it a plastic look in my opinion. But unlike Marvel at least they keep it nice and colourful and his head is covered so there's no wonky floating head syndrome. So realistic? Not massively. But the style saves it for me.

@@cheezelog3889 yeah I guess, but that was more discussed and this movie actually showed a case where there IS a situation where that the heroes didn't intervene in. we don't see the oppressed citizens of a third world country boo the avengers for not giving a crap about them. here, we have the benefit of the khandaqi being main characters as opposed to a hypothetical in an argument. I thought civil war was great, but it put that as a secondary while having a more personal conflict as their driving force (being about the bucky situation). again, this movie didn't really do the most with that conceit either, but I wouldn't give the MCU that much more credit..

A fairly accurate reason I follow is the fact that they’re answering to Amanda Waller, who canonically only cares about America’s best interests. All other forms of the Justice Society, Justice League, they worked with the United Nations and took special care to make sure they weren’t being biased to any one nation. Superman even gives up his american citizenship so the US cant use it to influence other nations. So since Amanda Waller probably doesnt care much for kahndaq, she doesn’t send them to help. But when a guy comes in who’s super powerful and who she CANT control, she sends them in to apprehend him. And then the threat at the end when she’s trying to establish power over him, and sends Superman to fight someone who completely embodies 1 of his 3 weaknesses. Brilliant.

I think “Dwayne giving it his all” is the main problem here. They clearly wanted to reboot the universe with new actors, then the Rock comes in and tries to go behind everyone’s back and bring back Cavill (even though he probably knows to an extent that bringing him back in full is unlikely) in order to get people to see his movie, leading to this whole fiasco. No wonder he had to fight so hard to get Henry back. And then somehow it’s James Gunn who gets made out to be the villain after all of this instead of the people who completely ruined the DCEU until it was unsalvageable.

What you guys don't know, is in the comics Black Adams shares a portion of his power with the kid and he becomes Osiris. His mother and the significance of the necklace she wears is she becomes Isis, and later Black Adam's wife.

Black Adam is a entertaining movie about superpowered individuals and the effects and visual design of the powers and super-suits looks amazing. But without a coherent world to be a part of it didn't have a chance to be something greater, hopefully Gunn and Safran gets to build a good universe. And the Cavill/Superman tease will forever be the most heartbreaking for me since i have loved Henry as Superman ever since i watched MoS back in 2013.

definitely - it's especially interesting to me how the movie differentiated not only Fate's powers but also his actions from MCU's Dr. Strange's plan in Infinity War how he willingly choose to sacrifice his own life for his friend and the greater good as opposed to letting other heroes do the sacrificing for him.... ...And before anyone jump out the woodwork tryna label me a MCU hater, let it be known that's not meant as a critic of Strange, one of my favorite MCU characters, ijs the difference's between them are interesting.

I watched it late, so watching that scene for the first time made me excited while also uncomfortable, like "They got him back, Henry's back! But now he's not back". Yeah, it does suck that Cavill's not getting that second chance, he deserved it but oh well. I am looking forward to what Gunn and Safran have in store though, at least we'll have a cohesive universe that's worth having....

They are using the old iconic theme because the idea is to merge the entire DC universe. Most of the fans love the idea of the nostalgia of bringing the old theme back. Just like them using the X-Men animated series theme in the Multiverse of Madness movie when Dr. X comes in. Dr Fate is not connected to Egypt. Hawkman was initially in the comics. Now, he is from the planet Thanagar due to Hawkgirl Shaira Hall being added to his backstory. They were fighting a battle in space and crash landed during a period of one of Anicent Egypt's Pharaohs.

I think that the DCEU's approach of making their films "Zach Snider dark" really works for projects like Black Adam. Between this and the MCU's Multiverse of Madness, we've gotten a refreshing look at how far into blood-and-guts violence studios can currently push a PG-13 rating. I think that's half of the reason I enjoyed Black Adam as much as I did. Honestly...I think I'd like to see the R rated versions of both of them. ESPECIALLY the Multiverse of Madness. Sam Rami came a hair's breath away from giving us a straight-up Evil Dead movie there starring Dr. Strange and Scarlet Witch. 🤣

Werewolf By Night also got to push it a bit with the black & white setting. I wish they’d give Moon Knight a TV-MA rating when Jake Lockley fully comes in. The Midnight Sons in general would fit better as an R-rated horror project. A graphic supernatural/mystical section of the MCU could be money. @@Linator4 Well, last I heard, Kevin Feige said that he was going to retain Deadpool's r-rating with Deadpool 3. That could sit a great president in the MCU with later properties like Blade. If it turns out to be true that is. Maybe we'll be lucky enough to get an entire section of the MCU that is R-rated. It would be a bit of a trick to get those properties to all mesh with the PG side of the house when later Avenger movies pop-up down the line, but I think that Disney/Marvel is up for the challenge if they can find the right directors.

I've searched and searched and searched the man of steel soundtrack and not one single song on it could be considered a theme song. And I always have to inquire, which one is supposed to be the theme song. And when told I listen to it and well, all it is is Drums beating to a crescendo and I am like, this ain't no theme song, it's just drums. And as of writing this comment, I can't even remember which song on the man of steel soundtrack is supposed to be the theme song, but I can go directly to the John Williams Superman theme song.

The movie wasn't bad but it was far from great. Felt very old school and the problem was also that The Rock made always big speeches that Black Adam will be something new and unique in the genre - but it wasn't. It was generic af. Time for a reboot, No need to keep a fractured DCEU. And I'm saying this as someone who loves Cavill as Superman.

@@Tao_Tology Yes you can do that but people especially the general audience will be confused. Also, you don't know what kind of stories James Gunn wants to tell in his DCU. Sometimes it's easier to start fresh. The current DCEU is a mess for 10 years ... why try to fix something that never really worked for them? sure the DCEU had some great moments i.e. MoS, WW, Aquaman, and TSS but also a lot of failures. You should also consider that most of the Justice League cast is out anyway. Everything screams for a fresh start.

The reason why this movie bombed is because that The Rock's ego got in the way of production which is why there were so many reshoots and the chances of a Sequel are slim to none. That Superman cameo at the end was awesome, but it's too bad we'll neve see them fight on the big screen anytime soon as the DCEU will be rebooted in 2024, after SHAZAM AND THE FURY OF THE GODS, THE FLASH, BLUE BEETLE and Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom will be released this year.

I think it also has to do with the fact that Black Adam is a relatively unknown character to the general audience, I mean look how much money Shazam made, it made nearly as much as Black Adam, but it's considered a box office success because it had a relatively low budget in comparison, and it also doesn't help the fact that DC does not have a solid relationship with it's fans and general public, as compared to MCU, even if Marvel releases crappy movies, they still make tons of money since it formed a good relationship with the general audience

Dwyane Johnson has a highly cultivated image, takes great pride in representing the Samoan community, and while it seems petty to include a "cannot lose" clause in your contract, I understand why the Rock goes for the roles he does.
