Honest opinion. The best item is the sweet potato donuts. I would go back just for them. The concept is unique and fresh BUT they lack organization A LOT. It will take hours for food and they run out of items so quickly. There's no structure which can kill such a good potential business. I wish them the best and hope they get better.

Where are the 'Soul' Chinese Fortune cookies?... There are Chefs and then there are cooks, these would be the latter, but decent ones. The concepts of all these dishes were fascinating, with the exception of the Egg Foo Young. My body just couldn't handle that much oil and fat, the enjoyment would not be worth the pain. One of the main aspects of Chinese cooking they nailed, extremely high heat, but the other main key to fine Chinese cuisine is velveting the proteins. This would greatly alter the texture of the Oxtail, and other dishes. Here in New York, we had an amazing Jamaican Chinese easting establishment called Nakisaki international restaurant. They served Jamaican on one side of the restaurant, but on the other side a Jamaican inspired Chinese menu. Pretty much the same idea but instead of Soul food it was Jamaican influenced. The Food served on the Jamaican/Asian side just looked better for each of the same type of dishes these guys prepared, the difference between being in business for 3 months vs like 30 years. Soul food is all about slow cooking, the marriage and harmony of flavors. Chinese is about extreme heat, velveting the proteins, and sauces. I think these guys if they focus more heavily on the Soul portion, that in a few years they are going to be a huge hit.

Great concept. Looks like they could use some wok training. I grew up in that area. There’s a reason the Chinese restaurants are closed. Some of the community did not treat them well. If you lived there, you have to mind your own or you would then be in the crosshairs. It’s too bad.

@1991forever 😂 You go to places like Buffalo Wild Wings and order a 10 piece wing and fries*which is only five whole wings cut in half* and pay over $20. Black people do not support each other. You go to majority average run of the mill over hyped Caucasian establishments and pay for overprice food that barely fit the plate and don't complaint. *Conditioned slave non supportive mentality continues to plagued Black American culture by many not all*. You probably voted for Trump.😂 Food cost money Why do you think restaurants are closing because overpriced majority Caucasian restaurants have killed the food industry business.
