I'm in Lawton and I actually caught a nice 4-5lb largemouth at Medicine Park. I don't have a boat so bank fishing is all i do. If you can get a boat, fishing here is pretty good. Catfish, Crappie, Bass and Trout are everywhere here

just keep fishing. i used to average 1 bass a week maybe and now its more like 3 a day. the more you catch, the more you learn, so once you start catching em it gets easier

Dude my PB Larry came off a tournament series, 7" sweet tater pie senko. Terrible cast trying to parallel a bank, was retrieving at a fast rate, across the surface, with a grass patch to my right, lure was probably 12' out when that grass patch split in half and exploded! That Larry launched as soon as it hit it probably 3' high and 7' in distance. Most epic shit I've ever seen in person. 6.3lbs. I'm sure that's nothing compared to your PB. But I live in NH lol

people use black and blue because crayfish change colors. In the spring and summer they eat a type of plankton found in grass that is rich in nutrients and changes their color to red. But in the fall and winter the grass starts to die and the crayfish cant get their nutrients they need and they start to turn blue. Thats why you see more skirts for jigs in black and blue then lures cause its mostly imitating a crayfish.
