This vacuum unit is just what I was looking for🌼 I didn't vacuum often prior to getting this because my home vacuum was big and heavy. I originally bought this for the small jobs (cat litter & dirt on tile and hardwood) but love it for carpet as well.

Thanks, v.helpful. What a lovely crystal-clear clear speaking voice. I wish that the actors on some of my favourite American tv programmes spoke as clearly....it's really annoying when they slur their words and you can't hear what they're saying,( when there are no subtitles available.)

Thank God for Henry telling us how to use this rather complicated, complex albeit super functions stick vac. I wouldn't have a clue how to use this were it not for Henry's explanations. The "instruction manual" completely lacks clear instruction including assembly with a bunch of minimal picture diagrams that basically say diddly squat nada. Thanks for speaking clearly & slow enough Henry!

Yes and no. There are actually two filters. There is a fine mesh screen that the round pleated filter fits inside. I just took mine apart and the the round pleated filter just pulls out. There was a lot of fine dust that had passed through the fine screen and was inside the area where the pleated filer goes. I had to use my fingers to clean the fine dust out of the the canister. So like all bagless vacs, it tends to be very dirty. to clean. I would say it's better than most, but it's probably best to take the canister outdoors to a rubbish bin to fully clean the two filters and canister. It's probably as good a system as can be found on any bagless vacuum, but still a bit messy. Getting the big stuff out is really easy by opening the bottom door, but the very fine dust particles are a different matter. I've only had my vacuum a short time, and was surprised to find so much fine dust inside. It does show that the vacuum does a good job of sucking the dirt out of your carpets. And of course the good news is the dust canister is very easily separated from the motor unit. All in all I think the design is excellent. What they need to do though is to have it use interchangable power tool batteries. 6 hours is a very long time to recharge it if you are in the middle of a cleaning job. The battery life at full power is much less than claimed, and once the motor stops it takes a very long time to recharge. If this unit could use Ryobi tool batteries it would be an absolutely fantastic machine. Ryobi's stick vac is not as well designed though, so I'm keeping the B&D in spite of its not so good battery life. It is powerful while the batteries are working.
