Finished both Paris paintings and now I am using my leftover paint for this. I am sure I will be painting this a few times, especially the blue my favorite, but the first one ended up Red since I have some left to use up. By the way, I switched to using your palette on the plates with ziplock bags instead of my made up wet palette. This is so much easier. I did write on the top plate this side up so I don't accidentily store them upside down. LOL Thanks for another great lesson.

I only have Liquitex Basics paints, is that going to work? What's the difference with fluid paints? Thanks!
@thankfulart8 жыл бұрын
+Christelle Montrichard Yes they will work great. Fluid acrylics are similar in viscosity to craft paint but have more pigment. You can just add a little water to the basics paint to thin them a bit. Thanks!

What size brushes and sponges should I use if trying this on a 24 × 36, I'm using the pop of turquoise color.? This will be my first painting bigger than a 16 × 20. Doing this for a Christmas gift for my daughter. Should I use a pallet knife instead.?😅 (and it scares me) ? ?

Still trying to figure out where you use the fluid paints. I know it isn't a big deal but I tend to need to do what you say instead of guessing

How if I use other sponge? Because I can't find sea sponge.
@thankfulart8 жыл бұрын
+Alen Liew you can use a stiff brush instead (my red oak tree shows how) or a regular brush (my cherry tree shows that). Or you could try tearing up a regular sponge. Just anything with texture should work. Good luck!

So i love this painting but i really feel like not enough time was given to how to get the background - mine just came out looking like gray blobs :/ some tips on how to get that almost fluffy look would have been great... giving up on this one for now
@thankfulart8 жыл бұрын
+Velsetta Manzetti sorry to hear that. It sounds like you might be using too much paint in your sponge. Do them with light layers and leave some background color showing through. Hope that helps. I have an older tutorial (Easy Impressionist Trees) that goes into more detail. It might help also.
@Velsetta8 жыл бұрын
+Angela Anderson I'm sorry I'm really confused now, I'm supposed to be using a sponge for the background? You're using a paintbrush in the video
@thankfulart8 жыл бұрын
+Velsetta Sorry I thought you were talking about the background trees. You might try watching my eiffel tower video. I do the background in it the same way. Maybe I explained it better in that one.
