You are right, that was indeed a Fred Durst sample. I have never been a fan of New Metal, but like so often, BABYMETAL have touched something I‘m usually not a fan of and turned it into gold. I have no idea how they do it, it‘s phenomenal. And watching those two jump around on stage with their big smiles makes me feel happier than anything else. It‘s just priceless. If you take a look at the lyrics, you might be in for another surprise. You probably haven't seen anything like those in Metal before.

Hahahaha, great reaction! You’re 100% on point, that was sample of Fred Durst’s voice haha. This is an epic song about 2 spoiled little adorable brats pulling out all the tricks of the Kawaii trade to beg dad for money to buy them all the things. The red hoodies here (instead of skeleton hoodies) is because it’s almost Christmas (Dec 2013) and they turned Black Babymetal into reverse Santas coming to a neighborhood near you to beg YOU for presents. No one can resist their charms! 😂🤣🤘🦊

That was fun watching your confusion as you worked out bit by bit what was going on. Yes, not only was that a sample of Fred Durst, Moa once said in an interview that the first time they saw Limp Bizkit and they played 'My Generation' she thought it sounded familiar - then she thought it was a tribute to 'Onedari Daisakusen' ... and then it dawned on her that no it was completely the other way round.🤣 Black BABYMETAL is the name give to the "sub-group" of Yui and Moa performing as a duo. The story video that was played in concerts before their songs was different each time and matched either the theme of the concert or related to the venue etc. There are 3 more Black BABYMETAL songs for you to discover ... and just as BABYMETAL's songs are all different, don't expect all 4 Black BABYMETAL songs to be the same either. The first Black BABYMETAL song was '4 No Uta' or 'Song 4' or 'Song Of 4' ... Yui and Moa have writing credits for lyrics and music (not for the arrangement). They wrote it on the tour bus in Singapore when they were 12 when Su challenged them and gave them the subject of the number 4 for a song (the songs they wrote about wood and banana have sadly never been heard).

Very cool!!! At that time, Su had 4 solo songs and Yui and Moa had another 4 duo songs. The shows usually included two solos by Su and two by the duo Yui and Moa, interspersed. Su sings solo "Rondo of Nightmare", "No Rain, No Rainbow", "Amore" and "Akatsuki". Yui and Moa sing as a duo "Onedari Daisakusen", "Sis Anger", "GJ!" and "4 no Uta". There was at least one show without the “solos”, with the three of them on stage the entire time. With Yui out, these songs by the duo were removed from the repertoire. At the Babymetal 10 Budokan commemorative shows (10 years of the band), Moa sang the songs "Onedari Daisakusen" (5th and 6th days) and then "GJ!" (9th and 10th days) alone, with dancers in the a choreography specially made for those performances. Enjoy Babymetal! 🦊🤘🦊

_Katte katte!_ _Chodai chodai!_ 🦊🤘🤑 This was Black Babymetal subgroup, not a exactly their own subgenre, it's more like their own songs just like SuMetal got her own solos, both got 4 songs. And yup, that was Fred Durst sample bc this is clearly a nu metal tribute. They're learning the ancient evil kawaii arts to cast an spell on daddy's will to make him buy whatever they want, they know kawaii-metal rules 💸 🦊🤘🔥

Moa was awesome when she performed "Onedari Daisakusen" and "GJ!" on her own at Budokan 2021 (Yui left in 2017/18). When you eventually check out GJ!, look for the Budokan 2021 version. She completely owned the stage. I'm glad they chose those 2 Black Babymetal songs (out of 4) for the show because they're my favorites.

The purpose of Black Babymetal and Su's solo songs was to give the girls the chance to have a break during live shows in the early years when they were kids (probably to comply with child labor laws). During Black Babymetal songs, Su would go off and have a rest, while during Su's solos Yui and Moa would have a rest. The four Black Babymetal songs are - Onedari Daisakusen, 4 No Uta, Sis Anger, and GJ. Su's four solo songs are: Akatsuki, Amore, No Rain No Rainbow, and Rondo of Nightmare. They only did these split songs on the first two albums, and since Yuimetal left, they haven't done any more split songs, and the only time they have performed any of them live was at 10 Babymetal Budokan to celebrate the 10th Anniversary. A lot of fans are hoping that now that Momometal has joined officially they might either bring the old song back or do some new ones. This particular song is Babymetal taking a stab at nu-metal. Both Koba and Moa have outed themselves as fans of Limp Bizkit, so this song is particularly inspired by them, and yes that is indeed a Fred Durst sample. The song is about little girls using their cuteness to manipulate their father's into buying cute, shiny, and tasty things for them. When you go to live shows in Japan, the Japanese fans often give out fake money with Yui and Moa's faces on them so that when they chant "Katte! Katte! Katte! Katte!" (which means "Buy it! Buy it! Buy it! Buy it!") the fans throw the fake money up in the air. When I was in Japan to see Babymetal, I was given 10,000 MoaYen.

one of the most cutest/badass songs by the most dynamic duo of Yui and Moa. Moa has done this solo and it was amazing as well. She added what I call the Moa Tantrum Stomp. Adorable. Love the beat to this song. This and GJ! constantly battle for my fav Black BABYMETAL song. 🤘🦊🤘 This was a nod to Fred Durst "fly!" Or so many suspect.

The reason for the name Black Babymetal is tied into the whole fictional lore of Babymetal. In the lore, Su is essentially a goddess reborn and a force for good in the universe (expressed through heavy metal). Yui and Moa are a more playful and mischievous force of nature, who are kept on the straight and narrow by Su when they perform as a trio. However, when Su is not present, they let their darker side come out, hence the name "Black Babymetal." They have had different versions of how they came to be a darker version of themselves told through slide shows at different performances. One version is that they were lured into evil by an dark figure who kidnapped them. Another version told that they were born of a union of devil and angel and were born part evil, part good. The common factor in all the versions is that they have a dark side which is let out to play when Su-metal is not present. Lore aside, the main reason for Black Babymetal is to give Su and break during shows and let Yui and Moa take the spotlight for a couple songs. There are four total Black Babymetal songs - two each from the first two albums. Likewise, there are four Su-metal solo songs, which she performed live to also give Moa and Yui a break. I'm hoping that now that they are three again, with the addition of Momoko, we will see a return of Black Babymetal!

Many people can understand why fans love Su-metal so much but cannot understand why they also love Yuimetal and Moametal so much. Love is not without reason. After watching this video, you will know how amazing they are. You also know why many fans’ hearts were broken after Yuimetal left BabyMetal. Thanks for your great reaction.
