Leon, I just noticed that your airbrush gives an interesting spray pattern it sprays a circle and leaves the centre hollow, just an observation.

Great work on the black basing. I actually use those airbrush stencils after the final blend coat with a lightened shade of the regular colour. If you spray it on very thin then it helps shift the tones slightly so that you have the dark of the black base and the lights of the airbrush working together. Looks great on single colour aircraft like early Japanese Zeroes or grey jets like the F-16.

For a fine scriber I use a bent airbrush needle, sharpening as needed. Don't ask bent needles, it happens, VLS and Thayer, knock on wood the Iwata hasent bent.

with the stencil as you said use another colour, to create gradient or depth I will use up to 4 different shades or colours, this works extremely well on black night fighters.

I love the way Mr Surfacer 1500 black looks when done. Do we really need to add any paint on top? Maybe it would make good for a covert/spy plane?

Greetings from Venezuela, I saw your excellent work, I have a question, at the time of giving the layer at the bottom, did you mix the rlm 65 with the 36622? and if so, as a percentage? Or did you just add the 36622 very diluted and then you gave the rlm layer?
