Black Bean Burger | Jamie Oliver's Meat-Free Meals

There's so much going on in my delicious black bean burger, a real treat meal for when you're looking for a veggie meal bursting with flavour! Crispy black bean patties, surrounded with juicy mango and creamy avocado, topped with cheese and zingy salsa. THESE WERE AMAZING.Forgot to buy mushrooms so I tossed in 1/2 cup of !!store bought"" fried onion rings!! Tossed in a teaspoon of caraway to the bread cubes. I added pickled jalepenos chopped finely to salsa. Used smoked paprika because did not have Chipolte sauce. My meat loving husband LOVED them.I made homemade buttermilk buns sprinkled w/ flour before baking, similar to snowflake roll but made them rectangular. One of the top five recipes I have eaten in the last 10 years.Thank you so much. Mangos are on sale so I froze 10 jars of fresh, sliced mangos for emergency provision so I can make these as often as I wish.

I love your recipes btw, particularly as a vegetarian trying to make wholesome meals for those around me on a very restricted budget (yes I work full time) and you've inspired me in so many ways. And your advice works! All kudos to you. But when you say 'get yourself a food processor' my heart sinks. We can't afford the equipment Jamie. Many of us can't. Sorry :( Please give an alternative. I totally realise btw you won't read this comment but just felt the need to put it out there.

Hand blenders (also called stick or immersion blenders) are very affordable and could do the same job. Some come with a chopping option, or a small container that you can blend straight into. There are also mini food processors that are very cheap. Good luck!!

Just cross crop it with a knife. Or you can get a hand blender, they cost about £4 on Amazon. Electric food processors start at around £20, so they're not crazy expensive.

There are some awesome gf breads and buns around. Usually made from corn and rice. Personally, I highly recommend trying teff. You won't regret it.
