I’ve been a vegetarian for 33 years… one thing I’ve never gotten into is any food that actually taste like beef. I like MorningStar Farms fake bacon and fake breakfast sausage patties/sausage links, but that is IT when it comes to meat substitutes that taste like the real thing. I don’t know what it is, but fake chicken, fake turkey, and fake beef is just a super no-go (and I never enjoyed fish even when I ate meat). I only enjoy veggie burgers that don’t taste anything like meat. I don’t get it.

Just coming to the comments to say I made this the other day you guys and it is absolutely delicious! For those who don’t have a food processor lol try to mush the ingredients as Best as you can and please don’t forget your bread crumbles because I did and they nearly fell apart 😂 (I crumbled up two hot dog buns to make my own crumble and try my best) buuut in the end it all worked out and got to give it props 10 out of 10 ❤

@@physicianinthekitchen What about a potato masher? Also, if you were to use a blender, I would not keep it running on low speed… I would pulse it if possible. There’s nothing worse than having no texture in a veggie burger patty, where it’s just mush.

If you are not vegan, it means you eat (occasionally) plant based. Im not a vegan but it is my understanding that veganism is a life style, not a diet. 😊
@physicianinthekitchen7 ай бұрын
@@roxanatunaru yes you are correct. The term plant based best describes people whose diet is based almost or completely on plants. Vegans not only don’t eat animal products, but they also don’t go to things like zoos or aquariums, and they don’t wear leather or silk either.

The thing about burgers. Low fat meat makes dry burgers. But, fat content on its own won’t make a vegan burger moist. Healthy vegan burgers need a grated veg. Grated carrot and onion is often used. These use olives, mushroom and beetroot. Grated celeriac and onion also works in a vegan burger. But, beans, nuts and grains on their own come out dry.
