I am Jamaican born, my roots are West African. I'm 95% African (60% Nigeria/35% - Cameroon, Mali, Ghana, Côte d'Ivoire, Senegal.) and 5% British. Jamaica is my country, Africa is my Motherland. I clearly know where I'm from. I'm proud to be African, and I love Africans, which means I love myself. I Identify with the cultures of Jamaica/Africa. My identity is not centered around the colour "black". One Love Jamaica, One Love Africa.

You know that slogan in Jamaica was used as a slogan for tourism it also negates the privileges Indians and Chinese have in Jamaica. You don't have to identify as black because most of Jamaica is black. Our blackness in America has roots, it has history, has art, languages, dialects, even ethnic regions we have afro-Appalachians who created bluegrass and banjo music, folk art, pinewood baskets, Black Creoles of Louisiana who have second-line parades for funerals and gumbo, jambalaya, then the Gullah Geechee on the lower country side who eat crab rice, conch stew, Geechee English Creole, then there is Black Seminole Creole and their descendants the Mascogos who escaped slavery and settled in Northern Mexico. Gullah Gumbo which is different from Louisiana Gumbo. Who also have black creoles from Mississippi and Mobile Creoles from Alabama.

News Flash! All life started in Africa ancient Africans migrated to every continent, island etc and mapped the whole world! An became indigenous to the new lands that they cultivated. So called black Americans ancestors are indigenous people of that land mass who were called Indian first by the WS. Reading is fundamental know read history not the WS version of it. Knowledge is power!!!

That's a critique lauded at Americans in general. I've heard this from Europeans and Africans alike (I teach in an area with a sizeable north and west African population and lived in France). But the criticism that Black Americans don't know where they come from is insulting to say the least. Um, hello, Brits, you DO know our stained history, right?

This is the first time I see any of these clips, but I don't understand them at all. I'm Dutch, I live in the Netherlands and so did my parents and grandparents. Who cares where the previous generations came from. If you go far enough back, countries didn't even exist, and further back all humans lived in smaller tribes and so on. If people want to identify with some history in the far gone past, it's up to them, but I will never understand that. I think the "British guy" could very well be surprised if he really new what ethnic groups he has in his past.

Romani Americans have had the same/similar struggles and issues as the African Americans with the transatlantic slave trade, where our history and names were erased. I look* white but I ID as IndoAryan. Colonizers love our music and traditional garbs, fetishizing our brothers and sisters… So it’s just kinda sad/silly to see some Afro British citizens respond such a way. You can really tell America’s and Britain’s school is failing our youth, more so the racist laws and systems that “keep people in their place”. Thanks for making these video’s Tysheen, I just found you on my recommended vids to watch and I’m happy I took a chance and watched. Peace be with you ✌️🙏
