Excellent video. Great accuracy. Ordered 2 today. One for me, one for my son. Let’s be realistic, it’s not a survival rifle. It’s for killing varmits, small game and plinkng. Use loctite to tighten the screws and place a quality scope on it. Done. The trigger isn’t a Timney…duh. It’s a $200 plus air gun. Not a Weatherby. Let’s be realistic. People want more out of something than what they’re willing to pay. Could it use some improvements ? I’m sure. But that is going to raise the price. I can hear the moaning from here. As long as it’s sturdy and well built, I’m good. It’s not my home defense rifle, it’s for fun. Good grief.

great comment as well said and so far it has been doing fine other then the rear open sight floating after about 18 to 20 shots. I like shooting with open sights and that was one of the reasons I bougght this gun was to keep a scope off it and like I said in the video that was pretty much the only bummer for me. But it is a tack driver with a scope on it as you saw and I do like the gunand if they can just put some better fixed open sights on it then for me it is an all around winner. Still not a bad rifle for the price and it will definitely puch out some critters in the backyard that is for sure. I definitely have no problem using it for that and small game hunting. Hope you and your son have a blast with them.

Honest, thorough, detailed and fhe best reviews of the BM8 on the internet. Which Weirauch would you recommend that presents best value for money?
@BravoBassin4 ай бұрын
thanks for the comment and that is kinda a tough question about which weihrauch presents the best value for the money because currently own 5 weihrauchs and I think they are all worht what I payed for each. So with that being said I would say if you are on a tighter budget then I woudl go with the weihrauch HW50s in .177 or .22 I own on own one in both calibers and they are great. Both are super accurate for target shooting and both are great for taking small game like rabbits,squirrels, birds etc: And tey are well built and still light weight to carry. price on an HW50s is $421.99 at airguns of airizona currently. But if you have a little more cash to spend then I woudl go with the weihrauch HW77k a little more expensive at $663.99 at AOA and a little heavier but still hands down my favorite weihrauch I own. Super accurate love that it has iron sights as well as you can scope it up which the hw50s has iron sights as well which is a plus for both rifles in m opinion. But the HW77K being an underlever spring air rifle gives you even more accuracy do to it being and underlever air rifle. its is so accurate I mad a 30yds shot in light wind at a cowbird in the trees off my front porch threading the pellets through some limbs and dropped him like a sack of potato's wiht ease. I will also mention the HW30s as well although it does not ahve as much power as the other 2 the HW77K being the one with the most FPS the HW30s is a great little air rifle super accurate as well if you are on a smaller budget and it is capable of taking small game as well at 30yds or less as well I have one in .22 but the .177 willl give you a little more FPS but they both ave about the same FPE on inpack there is not that much difference when you crunch the numbers. and the HW30s is only $378.99 at AOA but for about $40 more yo can get the HW50s which is what I would do and did do when I first started buying my weihrauchs. I bought my HW77K first then my HW50s then I got the HW97K in stanless which is awsome as well then my HW30s and then my other HW50s. Sorry for the kind long response but I do hope that helps.

Hi Buddy! Great review as always👍 What i would do is find a better sight that will fit or make one fit and take away that plastic picatinny rail. Maybe you will get a Hw sight on it some way. The gun has enough accuracy and power to be a good survival rifle. Other option maybe a compact red dot. Thanks for showing. Cheers!

Hi mate..excellent review… I was close to buying one of theses but decided against as I think any spares may be a problem…I’ve recently purchased vintage 2 x weihrauch air rifles ..1981..HW80 and 1983…HW77 ( both .22) .. HW80 was tuned by Venom and the 77 tuned by another high end tuner of the day…I paid £480 for the pair including original scopes..I’m a Weihrauch freak as I own 8 tuned springers plus a laminate stock 110 pcp ( and other brands) I can’t myself I think I’m beyond help 😂😂👍😆😆😆. Thanks for the great review! I, as a beginner, am looking for an airgun. I really like the BM8 and thinking about buying. I especially like the portability. I also hear you mentioning a "Weihrauch". Which Weihrauch would you recommend with a budget up to 400 euro's, about 425 dollars? A 50S? And another question: just wondering what's best to pick, a .177” or a .22” caliber? I'm going to use the airgun to shoot at targets/cards in my garden. 20 to 30 yards. Which caliber would you advise?
@BravoBassin3 ай бұрын
Well I would definitely recomment the weihrauch HW50s over the BM8 any day of the week first off. And you will be much happier and more satisfied as well with a weihrauch. So the weihrauch HW50s would be the way to go for sure and either .177cal or .22 cal are great as I own both HW50s in .177 and .22 cal. Me personally I like .22 the best with my air rifles but I know many that prefer the .177. Either caliber are great for target practice or hunting small game or even shooting competition so you really can't go wrong either way. I think the only real deciding factor is the .177 cal pellets are a little cheaper the .22. Also the HW50s is light weight and compact as well super accurate I have several videos on it in .177 and .22 cal on my channel you can watch. Andthe HW50s is so well built that you will be passing it down to your kids and grand kids for generations to come. So I hope that helps you out.

@BravoBassin Excellent follow up review & critique dude 👍🍻 I'll be honest man, I can't say I'd recommend a Weihrauch as the best first gun of this type; I simply don't feel the German guns are giving you the best value in terms of refinement, options, or warranty.... You may get lucky, but many people, here and abroad (HWs are cheaper in the UK it seems BTW) will tell you that Weihrauch guns don't give you tuned gun performance or refinement out of the box, often have QC issues (compression tube seams & cylinder galling to name a few), and don't have a great safety design IMO - it isn't ambidextrous that I know of nor is it resetable without re-cocking the gun IIRC. Even Jon of Keystone Airguns, who owns & likes Air Arms & many HWs will tell you about their QC issues and the fact they are essentially a "tuner's gun." Not saying that buying a Weihrauch is ever a BAD idea, but if you have to correct issues & tune the gun to get it where it should be for the price, I don't see that as a selling point... You do obviously get that famous trigger, good, traditional airgun open sights and likely a good barrel too; back in the day, word was HW made even better barrels than Lothar Walther... Conversely, for $100-150 less than a stock HW30/R-7, you can get a Cometa Galaxy 220 like mine from Jon in either .177 or .22 with a custom tune & now, Cometa's lifetime warranty (previously available in Europe but not here). You'll get a very nice gun in the same size & power class with a rugged synthetic stock; a much better entry level springer choice than an HW with a better warranty, good quality, and a nice Spanish barrel - plus you are supporting a nice guy with a small business 👍🍻 Even though I know you own and like HWs, I'd encourage you to check out Jon's business, and feel free to give him a call to talk shop; he's very friendly & knowledgeable in my experience 👍 Another affordable option is the Stoeger S3000-C; it is comparable to the Cometa 220 & has the same excellent style of ambidextrous, automatic safety that you can reset without opening the gun 👍 The Tac model even has an adjustable stock.. of course, these guns are Chinese, but offer a good potential value for not much money & come with a five year warranty now too... Just my thoughts, but I figured they wre worth sharing....😁🍻

thanks fo rthe great comment and imput back. And I do agree that if you have to do a bunch o fwork on a new air rifle before you can even shoot it then it is not worth it. I can say that al of my Weihrauchs and my wifes beeman R7 have been amazing super accurate and just performed top notch for me. I have owned several of them for many years and have done nothing to them except take them out of the box and shoot them. But funny you mention Cometa and Stoeger because I have been looking at both those brand sof air rifles for awhile and I have been on keystones air rifles sight a lot checking out the cometa's. I Have already been planning on getting a Cometa for awhile now as well as the Stoeger s4000 SO yes these are and have been on my airgun radar for awhile now. I am actually interested in the Cometa 220, 300usc and 400usc I like all 3 and just trying to decide on which one I want to try first I think it might be the 300usc. And if after getting the first one I really like it then I will for sure end up buying the other 2 as well. Thing is for me is I have no sponsors nor am I making a bunch of money from youtube either. Honestly I do not make crap from youtube because they hate anything gun or outdoor related so getting any o fmy videos fully monitized is pretty much in possible these days. The point being is I pay for everything out oof my own pocket and I do not have anyone sending me anything to test or try out so it takes me more time to get new stuff in to put on my channel due to the cost involved. So yes down the road you will see some cometa air rifles on the channel as well as a stoeger. Thanks again for watching the channel and your comments as I really do appreciate it.

I was going to buy this then I saw a guy on utube say he didn't get 300 shots out of a nitro piston before it failed. What is your experience with a nitro and is it a good purchase over a spring?.. I know the differences between them, I've been trying too find experience...
@BravoBassin5 ай бұрын
Well for me I will take a spring air rifle over a gas ram or nitro psiton air rifle anyday. first off the shot cycle with the spring air irfle is smoother then with th gas ram or nitro piston in my opinion. second replacing a spring if you would ever have to is way easier ans cheaper then replacing your nitro psiton. because when your nitro piston starts to leak and then jsut stops working all together your spring air rifle will still be shooting. And if you get a nice high end weihrauch, Beeman, Air arm, Diana etc: yo uwill never have to replace a spring and you will be passing those air rifles down to your kids and they will be passing them down to there kids. So ya for me springers arre the way to go over gas ram or nitro piston. As far as the black bunker goes I ahve had it for awhile and it has been doing well so far. Also for me my favorite air rifles to shoot are my weihrauchs and they are well worth every penny. when ever anybody ask me what air rifle I woudl recommend getting it is always a weihrauch first hands down. And what are his own problems, since I don't understand English, rather only through a translator. I am from Slovakia - Europe. If you can, write here specifically what problems does BM8 have? I was planning to buy it, but I'm backing out since it's the first generation. I was planning to buy it, but your questions convinced me not to. But I am planning to buy one more and that is this GAMO SWARM MAGNUM PRO GEN3I 35J 5.5MM AIRCRAFT. What do you think about it? They say that it is much better made and overall better built than the BM8. bm8 I liked how it looks to assemble the system, it looks very good, but I'd rather wait for the second generation and maybe even the 3rd.
@BravoBassin5 күн бұрын
@@RZ888888 Ok so the Bm8 is a very cool super accurate air rifle and my one and only grip with it is the fact that the open rear sight will not stay sughted in it eventually floats out of zero after about 18 or 20 shots. ANd this for me is a deal break becaus eit is suppose to be a survival rifle that you can break down and fold up. And I wanted to keep it set up that way and not have to put a scope on it. Because if you have to keep a scope on it then you are not going to be able to break it down and pack it. it is very solidly built and shoots very well and super accurate the tripper needs to be a little better as well i think with a few tweeks it could be a great air rifle. As far as the gamo swarm magnum pro I can't speak to that one as I do not own one nor have I shot one. What I can tell you is I do own the gamo swarm dx multi shot and I oen the gamo swarm bone collector and both of them are great air rifles so I would assume the magnum would be just as good. I do have videos up of both of mine on my channel if you so choose to go watch them. I also own a gamo varmit hunter extreme I have had for over 10yrs and it is still going strong. I will say stay away from the gamo CFX as that one has lots of issues as I own one o fthose as well and can attest to it being a very crappy air rifle that needs to go back to the drawing board. Anyway hope that helps. thanks for watchign teh channel and for the questions.

@ Thank you for your response, thank you, and how much does this BM8 rifle really weigh? We have kilograms, but I don't mind, I'll convert it to pounds using a translator. The website states 4.3 kg, which seems a bit much to me, even the gamon pro is lighter at 4.1 kg. And it's longer. And as for the bm8, I think that as you wrote, it will definitely be better to wait for generation 2. But who knows when it will come out. Maybe for the majority of people, the first generation is still fine. Then they won't need to upgrade. I don't know...
@BravoBassin5 күн бұрын
@@RZ888888 it weighs 7.15 pounds as I said it is a cool air rifle and it is very accurate but just need a better rear sight I am currently looking for a rear sight I can mount on it some how to fix this issues until then I am running a scope on it and with a scope on it at 30yds it is a tack driver. Now we just need to see how well it holds up over time. Me personally for the money I would save up and get a weihrauch HW50s in .177 or .22 I own it in both calibers and love it hands down weihrauch air rifles are my favorites to own and shoot and my Air arms tx200 but that is a pricey one.
