It's so interesting, though I favor the manga more than the anime there's so much complexity in the stories of the anime and manga alike. For instance, I really applaud how Yana was able to blend the concept of idols in the manga while adding a Victorian touch to it! Also, I think its safe to say Black Butler as a whole should be for 16+. It's too dark and psychological for teens.

@@Berries20 Hi there! By idols I meant the ones mentioned in the manga in the Blue Cult Arc! This might me a spoiler, but in that arc a music hall was using a group of men (who were from a previous arc) to perform enchanting songs much like boybands now! (The nearest comparison would be J-pop boy groups or like BTS for kpop). And to counter this group OurCiel created his own group, Phantom Five. It was through Phantom Five you could see the characteristics of modern idols because they had light sticks for the fans and speakers in the hall. Also, how Ciel created an image for each of the members of Phantom Five was very alike with the practices of companies nowadays in hopes of creating an "image" for their idols.

The characters actually exhibit development The characters are more fleshed out and enjoyable to read about, and you don’t have to wait forever for new episodes, as there are several arcs of the series already out. There is a lot more action with some of the side characters like Elizabeth and is a tad more gory than the anime.
