They were in a town where people regularly did dog fights and the person who ran the town tricked everyone into believing there was a cursed ghost dog that killed anyone who opposed him. So Ciel and Sebastian (the two main characters) debunked this, and that guy ended up being killed because of the hellhound, which wasnt the cursed dog btw. Ciel told Sebastian to put on a good show when they finally encountered the hellhound, and Sebastian ended up showing how to manipulate the dog with rewards and treats .-. That's actually what happened I wish I was kidding.

@@Rynn- okay okay, I'm going to try making it a bit less confusing. The order of watch is: Season 1, Season 2, Book of Circus (S3), book of murder (movie), and Book of the Atlantic (movie). The thing that can be confusing for anime viewers is that season 1 ended prematurely with a confusing NON-canon ending. Then producers realized they wanted another season so they invented a new season to explain how S1 ending didn't actually happen. So because the producers changed things, season 1 final episode and season 2 are entirely non canon. You can totally decide to skip season 2 or not if you'd like. I hope that's a bit less confusing :)

It a pretty great and fun show ngl, while still having it's dark moments, especially with season 3. The only thing is that since it differed from the manga, it can get a bit confusing, so I'll try clearing up a bit in case you wanna watch it, which i do recommend! I believe season 1 is completely canon until the ending, where the show was cut prematurely and an important character "dies" (not really a spoiler and doesn't even make sense). Then, the producers realized said character was important for a later season so they created a completely anime original season (2) to explain why they didn't "die". Its not a bad season, but the fan base is divided on that non-canon season which just changes a lot of things. I personally just liked watching more of my fav characters, though i agree it's not the best of Black Butler. After S2, you can watch Book of Circus (S3) and there are two great movies, Book of murder and Book of the Atlantic. Book of circus is amazing and my personal favorite! I hope you enjoy the show. :)
